HONEY NUT STICKY BUNS after 'Sj' (a.b.f)

2 pkg (1/4 oz each) active dry yeast
� cup warm water (100 F)
1 Tbs sugar

2 eggs
3 Tbs sugar
3 Tbs melted butter
2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

up to 3-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Dissolve yeast and 1 Tbs sugar in water. Let proof for 5 or 10 minutes,
'til you see it bubbling. Add eggs thru vanilla, mix well. Add 2 cups
flour, beat 'til smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form soft
dough. Turn onto floured surface, knead till smooth & elastic, about 6-8
minutes. Place in greased bowl, turn once to grease top, cover, let rise
in warm place till doubled, about 1-� hr.

TOPPING

� cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 tsp salt

� cup chopped pecans or walnuts

In saucepan combine all of topping ingredients, except nuts, bring to boil,
stirring occasionally, boil 1 minute. Pour into greased 13x9x2" baking
pan, sprinkle with nuts. Set aside.

Punch down dough. Turn onto lightly floured surface, roll into 24 x 8"
rectangle.

FILLING

2 Tbs melted butter

� cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Brush dough with the butter to within 1" of edges. Combine the nuts, sugar
& cinnamon, sprinkle over butter. Roll up from long side, seal seam. Cut
into 1" slices, place cut side down over topping in pan. Cover, let rise
till doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 350 F for 25-28 minutes or 'til golden brown. Cool 1 minute, invert
onto serving platter.

Makes 2 dozen.
