True enough that most people don't or won't change their habits.
Most ppl do resist change in any form. The saying, "Hard to teach
old dogs new tricks," does have some validity in real life.
I do know of one woman's doctor that tricked her into quitting
smoking. After a check-up including chest x-ray, he mentioned
seeing a spot on her lung. Scared the heck out of her and she
quit smoking.
Next year another annual checkup and she asked about that spot on
her lung. He told her something like, "All is ok, funny how some
dust can get on an x-ray sometimes..."
Something like that. She told me about it. He scared her into
quitting but it worked. Doctors won't do that now as all have to
beware of lawsuits. These days, they will run so many extra tests
for any little thing just to have their back covered and not be
sued for something they might of missed.
