If yoose changed her kotex more often, yoose would have less mess to
clean up.

i don't like raking. i'd rather shovel snow all day than rake for an hour.

Oh I didn't LIKE doing it, but I LIKED the results!! Far fewer GUMBALLS!! That's why I was doing it!! I have an 100% electric MULCHING MOWER but it will NOT mulch GUMBALLS!! Leaves, even the HUGE leaves I steal from my neighbor's Magnolia tree in her back yard!

It's nice to get the property cleaned up after winter.... big up
branches, rake the lawn, get the garden tidied up and all that stuff.
I'm getting tired of it. I spent almost an hour this afternoon picking
up branches and hauling them to the back. I hardly even put a dent in
the mess. I am waiting for the ground to warm up and firm up so I can
haul the wagon around behind the lawn tractor.

It'll be a while here as the frost has gone deeper than usual, a bit
over 8ft.
As a result, the city is trying to cope with a much, much larger than
usual number of water-main breaks. I reckon it will be May before I see
the last of the snow in my yard.

It usually only freezes down about a foot here. It is sandy loam around
here, so when it starts to thaw I get a layer of very wet mud. I got a
start on the big branches today while it was still frozen. Tomorrow when
it gets up to +15 I won't be able to walk around on it.

Because it's so nice out after a long winter.

I'm a few weeks away from early spring yard work; there's still
ice on the lawn here. If I get a nice day, though, I'll go
out and do some pruning.

Exactly! Baby steps!! Remember: Mother Gaya has 24 x 7 x 365 and WE have to sleep and eat! One small step at a time, rest, then next. Remember it is NOT GOING ANYWHERE!! No one is gonna come by and DO all your yard cleanup FOR YOU! Every step helps! And MAKE SURE the steps ARE HELPING and NOT HURTING/POLLUTING, ETC! I have 100% Electric mower, trimmer and blower!

NO burning 50 million year old plant material to move TODAY'S PLANT MATERIAL A FEW FEET OVER THAT WAY!! Work WITH Mother Gaya! NOT AGAINST HER!

That is HOW WE GOT INTO THIS MESS!!

Picking a nit here. Not just John I see it frequently. Should it not
suffice to say 24 x 365? 24/7 implies every hour of every day of the
week, but 24/365 implies every day of the vyear. To say 24/7/365 means
every hour of ecery day of the week and every day of the year. Redundant.
Just being a PITA today. Same with ATM machine and very unique.

You've not even made the tiniest blip on the radar with your 'saving' the
planet by buying an electric car. Why didn't you take some of that money
your dad left you and have solar panels installed on your house instead of
turning it into a boarding house? You use either electricity or natural
gas or propane to heat, cook, cool your abode, and power your water heater. You've done nothing, absolutely nil in 'helping the planet.' All this
patting yourself on the back with false accomplishments has done is to
aggravate your MS.

You haven't stopped using petroleum. What do you think powers that light
switch you flip? What's fueling your kitchen range when you turn on a
burner? What's running your refrigerator to keep your food from spoiling?

You have a great knack for ignoring these questions when they're put to you.
By not answering does not mean you've stopped using petroleum.

ATM and Register checkouts are the most POORLY PROGRAMMED POS little computing devices known to MAN! NO error checking, and make a grievous error as I did once, and we had to reboot The Register AND the Card Scanning machine to get them to sync up and "talk" again!

And Ed, you are correct! 7x24x365 is best! Means EVERY 24 hour day in a 365 day a year YEAR! IOW Always on!

But as I said, WE have to sleep and eat!

Still waiting on an answer to what you use to heat and cool your house as well
as what source powers your kitchen range and water heater? But as usual when
it comes to waiting for you to answer all we hear are crickets.

Waiting on an answer why you didn't use all that tremendous wealth you were
'given' why you really didn't do something for the planet by installing
roof solar panels?

Hypocrite.

Nope!! I did what I did with the moneys that I had! Ran a 240V line from the house to the garage, bought a 2013 Nissan Leaf, STOPPED BUYING GASOLINE almost completely!!

And THAT'S A LOT!!

I thought you were wealthy beyond anyone's imagination! Come to find out you
struggle like everybody else. No wonder you had to turn your house into a
boarding house! You can't afford it nor your car without boarders.

You may have stopped buying gasoline occasionally but you're still sucking
the planet dry using fossil fuels daily to keep your boarding house oper-
ational. If you were truly interested in 'saving the planet' you'd
installed solar panels.

You're still a hypocrite.

Nor do I. However, I like living here and not having neighbours 20 feet
away. I have close to an acre of grass to more, stone walls, three
structures, two streams and 70 trees to trim around, and hedges to trim.
There is always something to do. At the end of the day I can sit down
with a nice cold beer, BBQ supper, and not have someone peeling at me.

That's what leave blowers are for. You can get most of cleaned up
without using a rake. Blow them toward the road and then mow over them a
couple times. After a couple cars go by the leaves disappear.
