So it's been a rainy and cold spring in the US Midwest, just this afternoon there are severe storm/weather warnings extant...huge red and yellow blotches on the weather radar...watching Judge Judy be she is "pre - empted" by the weather nooze...some places in Chicawgoland getting five inches dumped on them...much storm damage so far...tornado warning until 9:00 PM (it is now 4:43 PM)...GIANT hail some places...

Crop planting is WAY behind, very wet and few warm/dry days...peeps who garden haven't even really got started yet...jus today put away the winter duds, earlier this week it was in the c. 40 degree range in the mornings...

I remember Sheldon mentioning this, and how about Cindy H. over in Michigan and some of you others...check in and STAY SAFE...

All's well here at the Hamilton compound. I didn't even hear any
thunder last night although it definitely rained.

It's been raining here constantly for two months. Yesterday was the
first sunny day but only 50ş. Today calls for 'showers' all day. We
may not bother with a vegetable garden this year unless the weather
turns hot and dry. I've only been able to mow some dryer areas, less
than half what I usually mow. The golf courses can't mow much either
and they're not permiting carts, only walkers. The rain wasn't
supposed to start until 10 AM but it's sprinkling now and it's not
quite 8:30. St. Looie is flooded and more rain coming... Kootch
better start building a student living ark.

Very dry spell here in my area and temps up in the 90'sF lately
and until Friday. I finally broke down and turned on the AC in
spurts the last 2 days. That's early for this area.

I am going to try to get my plants in today (cucumber, tomato and

damage them and cause runoff problems as well. So far the creek is
behaving mostly because it has been so cold at elevation that melt
off is slow. I can't plant corn or beans yet as the soil is too cold
and seeds will rot in the ground. The weeds are growing fine.

It hit triple digits over the weekend in my area. Very early this year.
We're getting a "cold front" so it should only be 98 today and
tomorrow. You betcha I'm hunkered down with the AC on!

Rain has been the dominant theme in southern Ontario during this late
spring. I got my herbs and flowers planted two weeks ago and everything
is thriving. Farmers have been having a hard getting into the fields to
plant their crops.

I wish they would do that in the nearby provincial park preserve. It
gets a lot of hikers year round and trail erosion in an ongoing problem.

Convert to Celsius and it will stay in the double digits:-)

I just heard a statistic on The Weather Channel. In the last 30 days,
500 tornadoes have been "sighted" on the ground. Not Doppler, actual
sightings. Holy Moly!

Yes, there have been a lot of tornados. There was even one reported in
Savannah, GA last month. It destroyed a marina where they were about to
have some boat races. Tornados are almost unheard of here in this part
of the south.

The AC has been going here for a while. Near record hot all week, but
the humidity is not so bad. I think not going through last winter helped
with heat tolerance today.

The weather on this rock is somewhat better. I'm thankful for that.
