I always buy pork ribs. I never buy baked beans. I must have had a stroke a
year or two ago and bought a big old can of Bush’s Baked Beans or mistook
them for something else. I used to occasionally cook beef ribs and had fond
memories of them. I have no problem with Bush’s Baked Beans. They’re
excellent baked beans. I just don’t like baked beans and forgot during my
stroke.
So I cooked beef ribs, then slathered with Bullseye Original Barbecue Sauce
with Bush’s Baked Beans on the side, yesterday. That’s it! At the end
of the meal, we both really needed a lemon to cleanse our palates and a
shower.
The meal needed something else, say cole slaw, but I didn’t have a
cabbage. Oops!

I'm having a redo. The meal I had last week needed green peppers, mushrooms
and rice instead of potatoes. It's cooking now.

Alas, those days are long over, but my love for the old bat is as strong as
ever. I read the previous sentence to her, and she approves this message
with a giggle. Seriously.

I had fond memories of them, too. Before the packers came up with
the x-ray laser-guided cutting cabinets that strip almost every last
speck of meat off of the ribs laving it on the boneless ribeye
roasts (that sell f or twice as much).

Here in Texas they don't even bother selling or serving them
anymore. I think County Line BBQ still has them, but they have to
special request that some meat be still left om them. Otherwise
you'd just get a rack of soup bones.

Back when Growlers had an "All The Ribs You Can Eat" event I ate THREE HALF SLABS and hardly any of their Fries. Loved me some pigsickles!

The food fighting days are over or the showering together days are long
past?

I did just reread it and yes, he did call her that.
Jealous much?

My meal was also barely adequate. The rest of the family had steak and salad. I had steak with noodles which I consider to be an appropriate substitute for salad. Your meal was more adequate than mine because everybody knows that ribs trump steak. Steak and ribs would be super duper adequate.

Looks like cheapo tough ukelele meat with a 9¢ packet of ramen.

Those ribs look like more than half the meat has been gnawed away,
there's more bone than meat. And those Bushs beans look like they
haven't been heated, too watery... they look like cold straight from
the can... gotta heat them to reduce that liquid some. We like Bushes
beans, especially some of their new flavors.

Looks delicious as always.

You strung together these words: "substitute for salad"
I understand every one of those words, but can't make sense
of them as a phrase. ;)

It's Paldo Jjajangmen which is a Korean take on Chinese black bean noodles. The noodles are better when combined with a package of spicy noodles to balance out the sweet Jjajang noodles.

The lady I'm talking with now would NEVER approve of me calling her an old bird!
