correct. gardening has been a hobby for me for many
years now (once i did the math about how much food i could
grow vs. what i could make at crummy part-time jobs and
decided i liked it much better than the job i was doing
(and that boss in particular who turned a decent job into
a crappy one)).
i can work as hard as i want here and keep plenty busy
during the better weather and then during the winter i
can return to poking around some computer projects and
whatever else i can find interesting to read or study.
science continues to figure some things out that are
still facinating. and i also try to avoid fads (the
current AI one as a case in point).

i love reef biology but get really seasick so that probably
saved me from dying by dumb accident because i'm not really
suited towards doing dangerous things. i'm good now with a
shovel and a few other simple tools and working with plants
and having a lot of fun doing that. even developing new
bean varieties.
