The plan was for me to cook my stir fired shrimp and asparagus stir
fried pasta, one of my wife's favourites. I was doing so well. I had
filled the electric kettle to boil the water while I chopped up
asparagus and red peppers. I put a pan on the stove and added the
waterfrom the kettle and salted it. I threw the pasta in. I heated up
the pan and added some olive oil, threw in the garlic and red pepper,
gave it about 39 seconds, then added the asparagus. The pasta was
almost cooked.

That's when the power went off.

I quickly threw in the shrimp, figuring that the pan was hot enough to
cook it, even if it took a little longer. The pan had been pretty hot,
and shrimp does not take long to cook. Thank goodness the power came
back on within a minute.

It was delicious.
