Why don't you fuck off? No one here is the least bit interested in the swine swill that you call "food".

What type of rice are you using? I am on a basmati kick lately.

Q for all reading...is one brand better than the other for rice?

Basmati rice is basmati rice, and yes I eat brown basmati rice. It cooks very quickly. I used to get regular brown rice which took 30-40mins to cook. But brown basmati rice takes 10-20 mins to cook. Brands do not matter, rice is rice.

What happens if it's cooked dry?

The possibility of roasting these veggies likely never occurred to him.

Roasted veggies /w/ butter would probably be very good!

Wet cooking is very easy!

I see Texmati in the stores and various other brands from different countries. Is it only the packaging that sells at a high price?
Is it like saying beef is beef?

Vegetables drizzled with a bit of oil then seasoned with salt, onion powder, and/or
garlic powder and then tossed together before roasting are great. I'd probably toss
in a few rough chopped onions as well; I'd go for a 425°oven. Of course, other spices
are great, too.

Easy? So is roasting veggies in the oven. You cook the asparagus and
broccoli in the microwave in an Anchor Hocking bowl. Wow, we're all
impressed by your prowess.

Don't bother to try to convince him. He's stuck in a perpetual rut with
only broccoli & asparagus cooked in an Anchor Hocking vessel in water
the microvave. Next up, boring brown rice. :(

Only if they are "lightly" steamed.

Her Majesty does it with style, oaf.

I had a seared ahi salad. It was okay, I could only eat 2 pieces of ahi.

Cheapest store-brand long grain rice.

Too many broken grains. For long-grain rice I get Riceland or Mahatma.
For basmati, I usually get Royal, simply because that's what's available
at my store. I could go to one of the Indo-Pak groceries and have more
choices, but since it's right there at the grocery, that's what I buy.

I like Kohiko for white medium grain white.

Is basmati medium grain? New at this as you can now tell.

Most basmati is long grain. I make it sometimes.

Today was a simple stirfry of boneless chicken, red and green bell
peppers, mushrooms (happpened to be shiitake), olive oil and a bit of
soy sauce. Served over Kohiko brand medium grain rice.

I probably should have taken a picture as it looked quite nice.
