Tasted OK, but would not stay on bread!

This is the stuff with the oil on top ya' gotta blend in (tryin' to
eat good). Too damn thin.

It kept running off the bread, so I tossed it at half-a-jar and
bought some Jif. ;)

I use such peanut butters to make peanut sauce, no need to throw away...and yeah, the "natural" stuff is kinda runny...I turn the jar upside down to somewhat "blend" it...

That'll teach natural peanut butter, running off like that!

Here's "Jif Peanut Butter, Creamy":

"ROASTED PEANUTS AND SUGAR, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF: MOLASSES, FULLY
HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS (RAPESEED AND SOYBEAN), MONO AND
DIGLYCERIDES, SALT"

I love that they don't just add monoglycerides but also diglycerides.
That's what I call going the extra mile!

You should try Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread which, the through the help of modern science, does not separate. I have no idea how this is accomplished except, maybe, they simply lie. It's great stuff, if all-natural is important to you.

Palm oil is the secret. The fats are saturated somewhere between 49%
and 90% (depending on how it's processed), and is semisolid at room
temperature.

Some people object to palm oil because of environmental impacts.

We like peanuts but not peanut butter, peanut butter is exactly the
same as preground mystery meat. We buy unsalted in-shell peanuts,
contains nothing but peanuts:
https://www.hamptonfarms.com/collections/in-shell-peanuts
If we wanted peanut butter we would grind them but why bother... we
have teeth... machine grinding roasted peanuts is exactly the same as
putting a perfectly cooked steak through a food processor. Removing
peanut shells is easy and is a big part of the enjoyment of eating
peanuts. And in my opinion in-shell roasted peanuts taste far better
than any peanut butter.

I'm not all that fond of peanuts. I sometimes use peanut butter for
various Asian recipes. It's just not worth buying peanuts. For
snacking I prefer pecans, pistachios, or walnuts.

I can't imagine stores devoting so much space to a product if they were
not selling a lot of it. It is also hard not to notice it in people's

One of the carts will be filled it soda pop and potato chips.

I trust that you realize that tonic water is quite high in sugar. A lot
of people assume that it does not because it is so bitter. Just imagine
the pucker power it would have without that sugar.

That is true. Go to any grocery store there is almost an entire aisle
devoted to all the different flavors of pop/soda.

There is one restaurant here, fast food joint actually, that I will drink
their sweetened iced tea. Good thing I don't eat there every week because
as well as sloshing when I'd leave I'd also be waddling. It is sweet and
it is very good, at least it is to me. But you can also opt for the sugar-

No need to explain. I have to confess that I have known a couple people
who had drank tonic water thinking that it was low in sugar.

FWIW I had a friend whose family owned a small pop company. He said
that ginger ale is relatively low in sugar because ginger didn't need to
be sweetened as much. That led me to think the same applied to ginger
beer, which I really enjoy. I was disappointed to learn recently that
ginger beer is higher in sugar than most other soda pops.

I don't have a clue what brand of tea they use but they brew it there and
dilute it to a specific ratio. When they make sweetened tea I don't know
what ratio of sugar to the tea and water they use either. But it's goooood
stuff! Lemon wedges are available as well for those who like it in their tea.

despise iced tea. Of course people buy it. I see shelves of it in the

Not in the entire US. Mainly in the South.

Here in DamnYankeeLand, if you order "tea" they might ask "hot or iced".
Hot would likely come with tea in a bag, because so few people drink
hot tea. Iced tea would come unsweetened.

All bets are off in Asian restaurants. There you'd likely get tea made
from leaves but instant coffee.

There are plenty of places where you don't get that.

No argument there. That's why I eat relatively little prefab food.

During this time of tribulation, I've been buying sandwich buns at
the grocery store. They're a little sweet, but tolerable. I look
forward to the time when the bakery has enough business to warrant
their usual panoply of goods.

A cup of hot water with separate tea in a bag wouldn't surprise me
here, either. Not that I ever order tea, but I see others get that.

It'll be interesting to see what the virus will do now that
everybody's relaxing a bit worldwide. South Korea has already had to
get stricter again. Germany's seems to be having a new increase as
well. Australia's approaching flue season.

Oddly, I remember exactly the last time I bought
some. It was 6 months ago, first week of November.
A 2-liter bottle of root beer.

I was expecting a very long phone call the next
week and thought it might be nice to have for that.
Phone call ended up being fairly short so I never
opened it.

It's still in my fridge, unopened.

Last time I ordered iced tea in a restaurant, it came in a tall
glass first filled to the top with small ice before adding the
tea. Hence - you got about 1/3 glass of actual tea.

Then you added your own sugar to taste. Small packets on table.
That never worked. It's hard to dissolve sugar in very cold
tea in the first place plus it was almost impossible to even
try to stir it in with all the damn ice. Most sugar just
sat on the bottom of the glass.

It was a dumb drink to order.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing this morning when I surveyed
my stash. Once things return to more or less 'normal' will people
pick up an extra pack of toilet every couple of weeks even if they
don't need it right then? Will they think "I should have several
extra pack just in case"??

I've thought the same, Joan. Most frequent items that I use,
I'll often get another once I first open the last that I have.

Never did that with toilet paper. I always buy a 24-pak of
singles or a 12-pack of doubles. Lasts about 3 months.

Last time I bought one was about 3 months ago and I now have
one left (double roll). I have a very old 4-pack of some
cheap brand that I bought long ago but have never used it.

From now on, I buy it more often...if it EVER comes back again.

I stopped at a small grocery store Saturday looking for something they did
not have in stock. I went down the toilet paper/paper towel aisle and they
had a 12-pack of their house brand toilet paper. It's two-ply, even looked
