And do the math above. She's saving $210 per year on heating by
polluting the neighborhood air for 3 months, plus the extra
work to keep a fire going.
Not only that, her cost of firewood is a silly claim.
"It takes 12-16 for a day long fire"
"Delivered and split, 265$ for 2 cords. 2 cords = 3 winters most
of the
time locally"
Gary: HELLO! Average of 14 logs per day, for 90 days/year,
times 3 for 3 winters = 3780 firelogs
A cord of wood has about 256 2' logs. (4X4X8' is a cord)
According to your claim, you're burning almost 15 cords of
wood in a 3-year time, not 2 cords. Even allowing for many
mild winter days here, you are way too optimistic. You would
be lucky if 2 cords lasted you a year, much less 3 years.
So much for your monthly winter heat savings calculations.
And this from a woman that is pulling in $150-200K per year.
Penny pincher. It would only cost you $210 per year to
stop polluting the air in your neighborhood.
You want a nice fire to look at in your fireplace, put
a 32" flat screen tv in front of it and turn to the
"fireplace channel"
I don't think Carol is going to like me anymore but I
just had to say that. oh well.
