...I'm having some Cheese/Hash Brown with Cornflakes on top that my friend Scott gave me last night when I went over to his house!

I learned long time ago that if my friend Scott asks me if I'd like some food he made that the answer is YES!

I met Scott in the Donut Shop I worked at 1980-1988, and we worked as bakers together for years!

It matters not who gave you the food, you'd accept it. But I'm sure it was a
nice change from eating the same thing nightly as what the county jail
serves the inmates.

John should be thrilled that debtor's prisons no longer exist, lol...

I knew someone who once spent a night in the STL county jail, dinner was
a slice of baloney between two slices of cheap white bread, "no condiments!"
he said...

I've heard of people using cornflakes as a casserole topper. I never
have... at least ate something different for once.

I've never been in jail but always thought that just a couple of days
lockup might actually be a cool adventure. Like maybe be a minor
"contempt of court" thing. lol

Just see the "other side" but very brief.

Only problem there would be that the resulting fines you have to pay
would make that a very expensive stay.

My brother worked in a jail for a while. He used to be able to buy meals
there, the same food the inmates got. He said it was very good.

I've heard the same story. They usually make pretty good food for
prisoners. I once heard that it was to prevent food fights... of
course, that could have been a speculation, I can't verify.

anyone from living a happy, complete life and plenty of gay folks have kids.

GM is practicing his usual misdirection since "choco[late]" was not
mentioned nor were [hash] brownies.

If I'm interpreting John's post correctly, it's a cheesy (heh) hash
brown casserole topped with crushed cornflakes. The old recipe I have
for it calls for using thawed from frozen cubed (not shredded) hash
browned potatoes and, among other things, a can of cream of chicken and
a can of cheddar cheese soup, some sour cream and it's topped with
crushed corn flakes. There are variations which call for actual
shredded cheddar cheese.

You're right, at least John ate something different for once.

The goal should be to make the food enjoyable, while
keeping food costs very low. Noodles, rice, eggs, chicken
leg quarters, beans and pork can all be really inexpensive,
especially bought in quantity.

I'd love to make a hash-brown casserole, but you lost me at the can of
soup. I suppose I could find a way to make it without that. I'd eat it
with corn flakes, I'm not picky, but I surely wouldn't go out of my way
to top any food with corn flakes.

Why do you care? Why are you so interested? I can only think of one
reason: You don't have a life of your own, so you leech of John's
life. I didn't know Assman Hank was the same.
