Scratched ONE item off my list!

Put some WD40 on the Weber Kettle air control at the bottom! Works normally!

Now all I have to do is NOT incinerate the ribs and chicken! :-)

I've got 4 fifteen pound bags; you have a grill but don't keep charcoal on hand
at all times?

Please tell me you will be using a chimney starter and not charcoal lighter
fluid.

Great! Backups are great, as long as you can afford them AND have the room to store them! And they are NOT PERISHABLE!

I only buy when on sale and I've got the space. You've got a garage, I believe
you said it was a three-car building. Do you not have space to store and extra
bag or two of charcoal there?

I just start mine inside the grill on the charcoal grate, bottom vents open,
of course.

He's changed his story again. When he bought the "chiffarobe" he said
it was laying flat in his ONE CAR garage. He surely did say before
there was room for three charging stations for electric vehicles. Guess
that didn't happen because his temporary tenants have no plans to buy
electric cars to satisfy his whims. Just like they refused to give up
their cell phones and chip in to help pay for his landline. (laugh)

And what's this about "as long as you can afford"? Doesn't he keep
telling us how wealthy he is? BTW, I hope he's burning *lump* (wood),
not actual charcoal briquettes.

Gary, you're an asshole, born and raised to be one and will die an asshole.
Nobody but a feeble-minded asshole thinks asking a question is bullying.

That's simply wonderful you like the taste of petroleum on your food, but a
lot of other people don't. Don't think the LOL and the wink gets you off the
hook for being an asshole, as it doesn't.

Jill, he has two garages in his back yard.
One is a two car garage, the other next to it is a single.

Pay attention, at least.

I have to admit I get a certain nostalgia when the neighbors are
lighting their charcoal with starter fluid.

I'm about the only one around here that uses a grill except the Laotians across
the street will grill every blue moon or so. Only thing my neighbors get to
smell wafting from my yard are the meats I grill and the hickory wood chips I
use when I smoke a pork butt.

It's always a good time to grill out. I remember living in Detroit in the mid 90's and grilling out steaks in the middle of winter. Always remember if it cold outside, the heat of the grill will keep you warm, and if you're grilling steaks or burgers, it's not like you're going to be out there for hours at a time anyways.

I've done it many times in CT, but as I got older, not so much. Not so
much the cold, I did not want to shovel a path to the grill.

I just snowblow the entire patio while I'm at it. The extra work is
in the noise, since the really hard part is the driveway apron where
the county puts all of their snow from the road.

Agree with you. I often grilled on back balcony when very cold
but rarely on very hot summer evenings. Mild or cold evenings
were my grilling times.

Grill was up on the deck. The snow blower does not go up steps well.
It was about 16' from the kitchen door. Not impossible, just got lazy
when there are alternatives.

Understood. If it were difficult, I wouldn't do it.

We lucked out with our ranch house whose back door is level with the
patio. If it weren't for the precipitous drop down the basement
stairs just inside, it would be beautifully wheelchair accessible.
If either of us needs it, there's a dining room window that overlooks
the patio that could be converted into a door.

Not a goat shed, since we have a basement.

Mine is further from the house, so a lot more work to shovel a path,
especially since the patio is sunken and has a fence on the west side,
which leads to drifting. It also about 50 feet from the door, so it is a
PITA to walk back and forth. There is the lighting problem.
