Well that looks interesting.

Yes, I still cook a bit. Making risotto tomorrow with Italian sausage
and peas. There will be five of us for dinner.

But I didn't think about the cheese sticking to the finely crimped
unfinished foil. I had to cut it out of there with sheers but it
was still handsome afterwards.

My rissotto comes in a bag for $1.77. Just add water.

Don't have the patience otherwise.

Knorr Selects, Four Cheese Risotto:
"parboiled long grain rice, parmesan and romano and cheddar and asiago
cheeses (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes),
maltodextrin. cornstarch. whey, salt: natural flavors, yeast extract,
onion powder, potassium chloride, butter (cream, salt), garlic powder,
spice, annatto extract (color). vitamins and minerals: niacin, ferric
orthophosphate (iron): thiamin mononitrate (vitamin b1), riboflavin
(vitamin b2), folic acid."

Ferric orthophosphate, nice touch!

You did good, that looks quite tempting.

What do 'you people' eat other than chicken breast/chicken salad the
rest of the week?

This *is* still a cooking group, so you must have a reason for
hanging around other than waiting to see how John ejaculated.

Leftover chicken is great in Chicken Divan.

We could discuss going down to a busy rain lane to watch for a train to
crash. I made the mistake of taking him out of the filter because I was
hearing so much about him and thought maybe I should hear things from
the jackass' mouth instead of other people's accounts. I put him back in
there, along with a number of others who appeared to be here only to
attack him. It makes thinks a little more peaceful. I wish others
would do the same

I pity anyone who drops by here to check out the group and sees what a
clusterfuck a huge portion of it is. Most of the regulars have learned
to filter the crap.

Last night I made a riff on Rou Zhao Fan:

Scallions
Garlic
Ginger
Ground pork
Dark soy sauce
Chicken stock
Black rice vinegar
Cornstarch
Sesame oil
Chili crisp

Served over baby bok choy and snow peas.

It was delicious and easy to make.

That sounds like it might have been good on a couple of fresh buns with
some fries on the side. ;)

It would have. Except I don't deep fry at home.

The virtue of this dish is that it doesn't require high-heat cooking and
consequently doesn't release a lot of aerosolized fat into my house.

And it reheats well, so the leftovers are useful.

Heh. I just came home from the grocery store with slider buns. And I
have potato chips, which is close enough for jazz.

But then I'll have the surplus bok choy and snow peas.

My husband had rice with his. He insists on putting butter in
rice, so I frequently abstain.

My initial thought was to make some rice noodles, but I looked
at the amount of food I'd cooked and decided I didn't need them.

Today for lunch he made the rice noodles, mixed it with the leftover
pork, and had it in lettuce cups.

Right. Very funny, but I guess that's true. Anyway, Rou Zhao Fan? That went over my head, lady. Sorry. I just looked it up via the google images button: Taiwanese mince meat with rice and broccoli. Sounds good!
