Mustard greens or Liza. Mustard greens or Liza. Tough call.

Have you ever posted pics of your cooking here, Gary?

I wouldn't. I like them for the texture shift.

I sure have. Not often but on a regular basis until recently.
Food pics and many personal (non food) ones.
None in the last 15 months when I lost my dial-up access on the
Windows98 computer. My ancient camera connects to that computer
but no way to get them on the internet to make a link of.

That was last year though when I used the other laptop. That one got
semi-fried from overheating and burnt out my USB ports (and the sound card).

With this new Windows10 computer, I have working USB ports so there are
a couple of potential options. I just haven't tried them yet.

It was a joke, Joan. Everyone here knows Steve well enough to know that
wasn't his entire dinner. He showed the complete meal in his next picture.

The PC I'm posting from now is... I lost track. About 8 years old at a
guess. Still on the original install and WIN7. CPU/RAM is still
perfectly adequate, but a new 2TB SSD drive arrived yesterday and I
(unfortunately) will upgrade to Win10. Starting to have issues with
websites due to Win7 and it can't be corrected easily, it seems.

The other internal drives on this box are all SSD, but I'll just whack
the new one in and do a clean install, then when that's definitely all
OK will just delete the old install. Might do it today if I get time.

I was just getting ready to say... I've never seen one, but the 15
months thing explains it. Your Windows 98 computer likely has an
Ethernet port in it, and if you subscribed to home internet, you could
connect it directly to the internet router with an Ethernet cable.

Most newer computers are backwards-compatible. I'd be willing to bet
that your new computer, if you connect your old camera to it, will
recognize it as a "mass-storage" device, like a flash drive, and you can
directly copy pictures from the camera to the Windows 10 computer. Give
it a try!

An alternative option would be to upload the pictures to your old
computer, and use a flash drive to transfer them to the new computer.
The flash drive would have to be formatted FAT32 and be less than 32 GB
to work with your old computer.

Of course, the latter option would be relatively time-consuming, but
there are always other options. My current computer still has an
internal 3.5" floppy drive; I built it that way, and I do use it to
transfer data to older computers a few times per year.

Final alternative option: New digital cameras are getting really cheap.

YES! That will be my first try for the old camera.

YES! That's actually my second plan.
I have an old flash drive that works on Win98.
If that same drive will also work on Win10, I'm in business.

I'll try the old flash drive first and maybe leave the camera hooked up
to win98 that already has the software installed.

I'll never bother to buy a new digital camera but a smart phone will be
coming soon. A much better camera and I'll certainly be able to connect
to Win10 with that.

:)

Honestly, that's what I do any more. A cheap older smart phone, but it
has a good camera. Aside from the camera, I only use the phone for
calls. It's a 2016 iPhone that I paid $50 for, used, a year ago.
Excellent camera, and cheaper than a new digital camera. I have no clue
where my circa 2010 digital camera went. I have a 2003 or older one
somewhere, but it's really not good quality, and it eats through a set
of AA batteries in very short time.

That's the kind of ads Postimages shows you? I've never seen one.
You need "ublock origin". Just install it and you can forget about
it.

Only the inch or two, These I probably should have taken more off
of. This is the first time of 10 that they've been tough.

What did I eat with this, anyway?

Oh - that's right. Pulled pork sliders and choriso bacon beans.

Gary's just trying ot get a response out of because he suspects I
have him killfiled.

Does that answer the question, Gary? Yes, I killed the monster I
created and brought here 15...16(?) years ago. That's longer than
most dogs.

Never run a camera off of non-rechargeable batteries. At least turn
off the flash or get some flash bulbs for it.

Yep, I've never seen those pop-up ads. I have that U-block thing in
Firefox and Seamonkey browsers. I forgot the name until I checked; I
guess they are doing their jobs.
