Eating out or eating in today?

It will be chicken and dressing here. The meat has already been cubed
and I've made the cornbread and all that is left is to chop some celery,
add chopped onions, chicken broth, butter, eggs, and seasoning. Then
into the oven and it will be a good size pan to have leftovers.

But first I need to bring in sheets and pillowcases. I washed those and
hung them out this morning to dry before heading to the neighbor's house
to finish with the upcoming wedding shower preparations.

Sounds good, just don't get gravy on the sheets, or crumbled Oreo.

Leftovers here too. Went to next door Wednesday and my DIL gave me
leftovers of a chicken and pasta dish that is very good.

In, although I had leftover Indian food for lunch.

Salad with grilled chicken and faux-Caesar dressing.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to bring in the mop. It's
upside-down in the sun so it can enjoy some UV.

Eating in. It is our Saturday night vegetarian pizza. It is going into
the oven as soon as the pre-heat signal sounds.

Breakfast today was a Hawaiian loco moco and vinha da'lho. The Hawaiian loco moco was eggs on top of a steamed shortrib wrapped in taro leaves on top of rice. A beef stew sauce is poured on top of it.
The vinha da'lho is a Portuguese dish and is pork marinated in vinegar and then braised. The Hawaiians like to it crispy so it's fried before serving.

Lunch: Homemade soup (new batch) and a bologna & cheese sandwich.
(pronounced baloney by normal people)

Dinner: The 2nd baloney sandwich and a few chips followed by
the star of the day sandwich - an official McD Big Mac.
That was the big treat after 2 months.

Dessert: 2 ginger snaps.

That sounds good. I made pasta primavera last night. I had some fresh
vegetables to use up.

I dusted off the bread machine and made a loaf. The loaf was thrown together i.e., I didn't bother to measure out the ingredients or use a recipe. It's a fun thing to do. Luckily, the yeast survived a couple of years being stuck in the fridge.

Chicken and dressing sounds great! Had you of given me at least a 7
hour notice, I'd have made it on time. ;)

It's a little late now, but yesterday, I was working on the spicy
sausage/potato/kale soup. Sophia did not approve of the spicy sausage.

This morning was biscuits and gravy, to use up a pound of breakfast
sausage from the freezer, plus the last of my milk before it turned.
I'm not sure what I'll have later, but I still have soup and left over
pizza from the other day.

I'm over due for a batch of gingersnaps. Do you buy them or make them?
My recipe makes 5+ dozen, so plenty go into the freezer.

When I make bread, I usually don't measure either. I haven't done it in
a while, so it might not come out great. Then again, I do basically the
same thing for pizza dough, and that always comes out well. I keep the
jar of yeast in the freezer.

I'm getting pretty good at making home made biscuits (scones, for
Bruce). I don't use a recipe, I just throw the stuff together, and it
gets better every time.

Bread machines are much more particular than human bakers. There's no
intelligence or adjusting involved.

There's plenty left over!

Was it the spicy sausage or the kale that her palate rejected?

I got up late today so no actual breakfast unless a banana counts.

She actually liked the kale, but the spicy sausage was a big "no". I
rinsed the broth and some of the sausage off, and she ate some of the
kale and potato.

I suppose so, but unfortunately, I can't eat bananas. I have some kind
of mild allergy to them, and it's just unpleasant.
