Today was a special day at my house. Had some family here. We had
dinner tonight, pulled pork and sides, but the big thing was dessert. I
ordered a Sacher tort for us. I only did this once before after seeing
it featured on a show Andrew Zimern did a few years ago. That was about
3 years ago. Did it again for today for the memories.

Fresh whipped cream of course, the way it is served at the Hotel Sacher.

Looks very good.
58.90 euros for a cake, snooty Europeans!

I'm sure the box costs more than the ingredients of the cake.
Presentation is everything.

Good Sacher Torts are not cheap. That is not even all that expensive
for a great cake. I remember seeing a cake in a the window of a bakery
in Paris back in 1993. It was 480 Francs, about $120 at the time. It
wasn't a big cake, but it was beautifully decorated.

And all for a [Riesen] little bonbon with [Handgriff]! I took German over
fifty years ago, because I had to. I ain’t looking it up, but not bad, eh?
