First, my wife turned it on, and I could hear from the next room that
characteristic motor-not-spinning noise, so I shouted to turn it off.
The shaft was rusted. A little cooking oil, and turning it with a
channel lock got it loose, but there was also a little piece of plastic
busted off on the motor part, so I sprang for a new one. The different
colors were different prices, and the red one was the least expensive.

Not a bad price at all. $28.88 The old one worked for her sweet
potato soup, but the new one should arrive on Tuesday.

Dude, Braun has the best ones by far. I've gone through all other
brands and my Braun is by far the clear winner. The kitchenaide is
the worst one.

Braun also make those 3/4 horsepower ones for commercial kitchens
that are 3 feet long and can double as directional outboard boat
motors.

It was $29, and we don't use one often. Plus, it won't be many
years until we're elsewhere most of the weeks of the year. I
think it should be fine for occasional smoothies, salad dressing
and mayo, and for my wife's sweet potato soup.

The latter is probably what Popeye uses.

Obviously, if they are both "the best," AND have nautical uses!
