Twist and Pull, MY ASS!

And even if you do get them off without ripping the bag, they're not
reusable. So you either have a non reusable bag and/or tie.

Putting them on 12 and 24-count bags of rolls from Costco is kinda
stupid. I suspect they're easy to put on bakery employees (and
they're probably not doing it right), but totally suck from a
consumer standpoint.

There. I feel better already.

Got another picture. I simply can't get this one to open. Without a picture
I don't understand what you are talking about.

SORRY! It finally opened up. Yes, those 'bread ties' are simply useless.

Agree. Sometimes I have to cut them to get them off and then my bag is even
smaller. I have a lot of twist ties. I use cheap bread bags to hold things
like chopped veggies for cooking. If the amount is small and I have to keep
it in the fridge for a little while, I just tie a knot in it. So I have
plenty of extra ties. I use clothespins too. Far cheaper than bag clips.

A machine can put them on. OTOH, the bakery I use has a little machine
for twist ties.

When I get ones like you depicted, I cautiously slice through the tape
with a razor knife.

My HEB bakery uses these on only a few items. I'll hand the item to
them and ask them to remove and replace the tie. And then when
they struggle with it, I say, "See? Now you know how WE feel."

I didn't realize Costco started doing this now, too, until I got my
"artisan rolls" homes last night. I'd much rather have their former
La Brea torta rolls than these things.
