A stable in all the New York City bodega's. But Sheldon has never
heard of them because he's such a Refined Man of the World.

Sheldon's sailed the seven seas which is more than you. More than me also. I've only sailed five of the seven, although all of these trips were accomplished in a two man dingy. I once drove, along with my life partner, I once drove from Porteegal, round the Horn, into the Specific
Ocean, and up into Peru. You? Ever been to Lima? No? Didn't think so. And even if you were there, it was probably by way of the Swift Current.

But were you slinging hash the whole time? Next time take the
Bahanama canal - it's much quicker!

And I *have* taken the Swift Current route several times on my way
from Sasaktoon in search of Freedom Fries and quinoa. Lucky guess -
I'll give it a B+

Bad form, I know. But I had to modify the first paragraph slightly.
It's allowed since I bear a poetic license.

See? This is why I still post about food - Hopefully to give others
some daily cooking inspiration, but also to receive some back.

I've heard of spiedies before, but I only got halfway through your
short post before I looked up a recipe and was downstairs within 2
minutes throwing a quick thaw on a 4-pack of chicken thighs (using
my SV circulator in the sink set at 96F). And within an hour I have
chicken spiedie chunks marinating:

https://i.postimg.cc/tgrM6sjq/Chicken-Spiedie-Marinating.jpg

According to this recipe...

https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017420-spiedies

... which begged for a little more acid and a big long sqwertz of
Dijon mustard for taste and emulsification. Plus some MSG.

I'm expecting another air fryer delivered today (Sur La Table
"brand") with rotisserie skewers(*). So I can use that or grill
over charcoal (preferred). Plus I have sub rolls and all the other
fixings. Or just serve over rice and/or with or over a tossed
Greekish salad.

(*) And that just arrived while I was typing this:

Any idea what those asterisks after the menu items refer to? It
doesn't seem to be "May be cooked rare and contain cooties".

And HEY - only $.10-$.12 extra for cheese on your hamburger - Who
Hoo!! (what is this, 1976?)

Look up.
*All with lettuce, tomato, onion & sub sauce or mayo

I wonder what sub sauce is. Vinaigrette, I hope.

"Look up", what? Oh, I get it now. Usually asterisks mean...(*)

The recipe/article I saw indicated its the marinade to use as a
finishing sauce, of which I reserved half (minus the MSG). It's a
pretty good vinaigrette with my mods. And I'll use the "used"
marinade to baste.

(*) ... To look down, duh. I have all that stuff, too.

We buy their lemon garlic marinade two gallons at a time.  We're having
some with chicken tonight.  Great stuff!

I saw where you posted the burning food candlenut picture on the RFC on
FaceBook page, and within minutes, someone got it. I guess only lower

If you consider 'low' not tolerating the fancy colors, sounds and pictures of other 'archives'. People will always disagree. Even when they see a chopped cheese on the 'google' images button.

I guess a "chopped cheese" is a cheese steak. I don't know what "sub sauce" is.

It is a thick liquid composed of food ingredients, lacking slightly in
the composition required to be called a 'complete' sauce.
