Good Google theory but in real life not always a good thing or even
practical. What's a good sturdy, well fitting glove for a carpenter, a
painter, a rock climber, a guitar player? Even extension ladders are
pretty risky to climb with gloves on. The slip factor is high.

I've seen some coveralls/chaps that lumberjacks wear that are 'practically'
cut-proof. If your problem is flying kindling/firewood banging your shins
maybe those shin guards that cyclists wear would work.

My hands were roughed up by Djembe playing, but I learned I have many fingers with which to play my Djembe!

And yes I have some 2X Black Advance Vinyl gloves that fit like a second skin! I use them when I handle anything with JBWeld on it! Peel 'em off after and pitch them in the trash.

Yes, exactly what I need. Every now and then I piece of firewood flies
the wrong way and hits me in the shins. Ouch.

>(Cringe) I don't want to know about that mashed/crushed/cut/mangled big toe.

It was worse than I originally thought it was and took months to
heal... it doesn't look the same as before. Oh well.

I'm going to look into this more. I've had gloves before, of course.
But the ones I've tried that fit well and are not an impediment in any
way - tend to not last very long.

How about tap water running too fast? That might require a skin
graft...

You can "look into this more," but I doubt you'll find
anything new. Supple gloves are tender, and tough
gloves are stiff and thick. Maybe there will be carbon
nanofiber or Kevlar ones that perform better, but you
were probably right the first time. You have sheep,
so you're obviously not allergic to lanolin, and there
isn't, TTBOMK, anything better for making cowhide
gloves flexible.

As a cannabis nurse you should know that it is not a drug according to
the FDA except for some that contain THC.  The shit you are grinding
into your limp penis is not a drug, expert.  You are going to fail your
class "bigly" on Monday.

That wouldn't be a surprise.  Even if he does, he might forget about it.

A serious guitar player develops calluses on the finger tips of the fret
hand, making them less sensitive.

Someone that does a lot of physical work all the time will also have
rough/tough hands and skin, also less sensitive.
Compare to an office worker or a stay at home inside person that has
soft and sensitive skin.

Case in point is computer keyboards. The "F" and the "J" keys have tiny
raised points on them so you know where to position your fingers without
looking. My rough fingers are not sensitive enough to feel them easy, I
have to look.

Climbing ladders is not about rough skin. Talking about wearing gloves
in cold weather and most gloves will slip too easily making them
dangerous to use. I did find a good brand though. White cotton gloves
with many black rubber dots on the palm and fingers. Those kept my hands
warm and also gave a good grip on the ladders.

In article <e722eb36-3dbd-4e00...@googlegroups.com>,
itsjoan...@webtv.net says...
Many years ago, England had a tree pandemic called Dutch Elm disease,
compulsory felling. We had 4 elms at the bottom of the garden and the
adjoining farmer charged us a fortune to fell them onto his land.
With our money he bought a petrol chainsaw. Never used one before. He
economised by not buying protective clothing and on tree 4, he slipped
the saw onto his unprotected leg. 50 years later I can still hear his
screams.

Years later we had a rural small-holding on an exposed Scottish
hillside, old, cold stone house, everything fuelled entirely by wood;
we bought felled trunks delivered on a low-loader grab by the Scottish
Forestry commission, and cut them into logs ourselves. Average 17 to 19
tons of logs cut a year. Wearing full protective gear including Kevlar
trousers.20 years without an accident.

Trust me, you never want to hear or see a chainsaw accident. Buy the
best protective gear, and use it every time.

Janet UK.

The most important protective gear when felling trees is a good
helmut, some small dead banches at the top will come down and stab
into someones skull, that's why those are called "widow makers".

Enabling spell checker/autocorrect in Windows 10.

Press the Windows key + i (Windows key is in the lower left corner of your keyboard)

Select 'Devices'

Select 'Typing'

Switch 'Autocorrect misspelled words' and 'Highlight misspelled words' to the
"On" position.

Misspelled words will be underlined; place your cursor on the incorrect word and
left click your mouse. It will give you a selection of the correct word to use, click
on the correct word and your misspelled word is automatically corrected.
