Our resident pal, Bruce should like this one. ;)

Without looking it up (might not help anyway), see if you can
guess this commercial food product.
"What is ________, Alex?"

It's a well known and popular food found in most grocery stores.
Here's the scary ingredient list-
http://www.hostpic.org/images/1903091953140097.jpg

I'll post the answer Monday or Tuesday morning for those that
even care.

Note: this is such a simple meal. I was stunned at the ingredient
list. Are you kidding me?
I have plans to make it myself soon with basic ingredients -
already on my grocery list.

:)

Wow, Bruce is a bit busy right now having an orgasm looking at the list.

I'm guessing some sort of chicken and pasta soup. It does have natural
flavoring though.

very rare i spend any time doing that. as a

Well congratulations to "Jinx the Minx".
Nailed it only 16 minutes after I posted.

Final answer is: Hot Pockets - Chicken, broccoli and cheese.
Using same ingredients, they also sell Lean version and
a crossant version.

I had a pic to send of the Box label but uploads won't work
today.

Jill mentioned the "ham and cheese" ones. I do remember that they
were better than average.

Plan to make my own soon. Good for a quick late night snack. Hot
Pockets have either cheapened way down or maybe just my older
tastes have changed. Probably a combination of both but I won't
buy them again.

You need to get out more often. Combo of chicken broccoli and
cheese goes well together. Also, ever hear of beef and broccoli?
That's very good over rice or egg noodles. Probably good in a pie

You need to focus your perception more on reality and not so much on any deficiencies of mine that you fantasize. I made the mistake of ordering a vegetarian pizza when we lived on Cape Cod.
Here, you're likely to get toppings of green pepper, onion, mushroom, black
olives and occasionally pineapple. The pizza I got had all of those things
except for the pineapple but it also had a ton of broccoli! I immediately
knew something was wrong when I was handed a soggy, wet box.

The broccoli had cooked down to mush and ruined the whole pizza. The crust
was so damp, the slices fell apart when you tried to pick them up. I hate
cooked broccoli! Picking it off didn't help either. It invaded everything
and made it taste like broccoli.

I called the place and complained. They did send me a coupon for a free
pizza but I never used it. I couldn't shake the memories of that hideous

The secret to stir frying broccoli and the like is adding water and steaming/boiling the veggies. I add very little water because I'm looking to cook it with some snap left in them. I could make broccoli fairly soft by adding a lot more water. If I ever cook for FOB haoles, I shall keep that in mind.

Yes, even broccoli. I try to be considerate and cook according to how people like their foods. Haoles like their broccoli cooked all to hell - you got a problem with that? You should take your complaint to the haole council, what's it got to do with me?

OH screw enjoyable, LOL. I just want to tell those little brocco bits
to
"Get in my belly!" ~in the fat bastard voice from austin powers

I like to cook fast... and besides the microwave will allow the food
to retain much more nutrients. I do broccoli, carrots, cauliflower,
asparagus and pretty much any veg you would steam in the microwave for
just a couple of minutes....

If you have a microwave and an airfryer then you can cook anything
faster and healthier than using a stove and an oven....

But yes I remember the good old days back when I used a wok and
regular pots and pans. It was enjoyable. Wow that feels like it was so

YUM dinner! And turkey stock is the best, imo. Very strong taste.

I have cooked broccoli in the microwave and also steamed and stir-fried it. If I don't have much time, the microwave works fine. OTOH, it must get awfully depressing to cook stuff the same way all the time. I'd probably just have to quit cooking. One has to be discovering new things in order to keep things fresh and alive.

This broccoli was cooked in the microwave because it was made at 9:30 in the evening and it had to be ready for my wife to take to work. The broccoli came out fine:

It may be that woks were a fad on the mainland but I've had a wok since the 70's. These days, I've been cooking a lot with a carbon steel pan. Ironically, the pan is quite similar to my wok.

My latest idea is to stuff a meatloaf with Pik-nik Ketchup Fries. :)

In your fantasy world, Chinese people and white folks like broccoli the same way, white folks and Asians view each other in the same way, carbon steel pans are not like cast iron pans. Asian people and white people don't see each other as drones.

Sounds like you live in Willy Wonka land - a world of pure imagination. How wonderful is that? :)

In your world, all white folks like broccoli the same way,
all white folks have the same view of Asians, carbon steel
pans are identical to cast iron pans, and all Asian people
and all white people have the same view of the other.

You're just pulling stuff out of your butt, and doubling-down
when people tell you you're wrong. Wait! I think you're
really Donald Trump.

I never said all white folks like broccoli the same way. I never said all white folks have the same view of Asians. I never said that all Asian people and all white people have the same view of the other.

I never said that carbon steel pans are identical to cast iron pans. I pointed out several important differences between carbon steel and cast iron. What I did say was that the cooking surface of the pan was similar to cast iron. If you can get one single factoid into that thick skull of yours, that would be the one you should make a feeble attempt at.

Normally, I would insulted if someone said I was comparable to Trump but in this case, I find it amusing. Thanks. :)

Could be. On the other hand, I'd be comfortable betting that you cook your broccoli all to hell and can't tell the difference between Thai and Vietnamese food. :)

You would be quite wrong there. I will admit that I was raised on over
cooked broccoli, which is probably why I never liked it much. I usually
steam it only long enough to bring out the colour and it will still be a
little crunchy, or it will be the last vegetable thrown into a stir fry.

I used to love Chinese food and assumed that I would like Thai because
of their geographical and cultural similarities. I found the food to be
quite different. I really like Thai food. There were no Vietnamese
places around here until just a few years ago. I did expect them to be
similar, and again it was because of their geographical similarities. I
was really looking forward to it. When I finally ate it one I was really
disappointed to find how different they are. It was suggested that the
reason was that the place we went just wasn't very good. I tried another
on and it was a little better, and a third that was much better, but
still nothing like Thai food, and nowhere near as good as Thai.

There is some irony to your suggestions about how all white people like
or dislike certain things while. Heaven forbid it should be you who is
full of prejudice and bias.

I never say "all." When I say that Haoles like to cook their broccoli all to hell, I don't mean every single ding-dang one of them only an idiot would believe that. This does not mean that all Chinese folks undercook their broccoli either. That's just a stupid rfc ploy that the usual suspect like to use. My remarks are also directed at Americans because I don't know a damn thing about Canadian eating habits. If I was to take a guess, I'd say that Canadians eat their broccoli raw and while it's frozen solid.

I don't believe that I'm full of prejudice and bias. Mostly I state the truth. If I said that Chinese cooked broccoli was superior to haole cooked broccoli, then you might be able to yell out "prejudice!" or "unfair!" Any bias you see is a fantasy on your part. On this rock we are taught that everyone is different but you better not suggest that anyone is superior or thee shall be shunned.

You take things too literally. This is fairly common with people that have an autistic spectrum disorder. I don't have anything against people that have this nor do I think it's much of a disorder but I'm not going to change my writing style to suit individuals.

Your neurological disposition probably suits your job. My father-in-law had it and he was a great computer programmer. My mom might have had it, I might have had it too. My son definitely has it. I removed him from school because that institution was clueless about how to handle him. That was a radical move but I did what I had to do.

My guess is that it would be more helpful to study how most neurotypicals communicate instead of trying to get me to change my writing into the style of technical manuals. :)

What??? And then be accountable for what he said? It doesn't work that
way in his word. He seems to think that he is entitles to make sweeping
statements about people or groups and then not be proven wrong because
that wasn't what he really meant.

Commnication here would improve vastly if people would make the effort
to reread and correct their asinine typos/ommissions before sending.
And learn to write in full sentences rather than fragments.

I know I make typos and spelling errors, I don't use spell check nor
do I always take the time to check a dictionary, however those
spelling errors in no way confused my message.... and I poiposely use
yoose... RFC posts are not legal contracts, but when posters are
arguing some picayune point accuracy stems the confusion... some seem
to ALWAYS omit woids that result in gibberish.

You're not the only one here with ASD. This group suffers from an inflexibility with language. That's classic ASD. That's why there always a stupid catfight dealing with the meaning of words on this group. That's the breaks.

As I have said, I'm not going to change my writing to suit you. I am willing to clarify my posts if you have any questions about my post. OTOH, as we both know, you're not really interested in what I'm writing about. You're not really interested in the injustices done to the Hawaiian people 200 years ago or even this week. That's just your silly rfc gamesmanship. I think I don't play your game.
