Suck it up and drag it into the house yourself. After all, you've been working
out with the Nordictrack, you should be able to hoist it with no trouble.

It's an antique, and I glued up the base for support while it was laying on its back in my one-car garage. But it's wooden and huge! All one piece. Tall! Two strong movers can do it carefully! NOT ME! I HAVE two housemates in mind but one is on vacation!

Question: How the hell did it get into his garage in the first place?
It must have been delivered so why the hell didn't he just have them
take it into the house?

Go ask Bryan. ;)
(sang to the tune of Jefferson Airplane's, "Go Ask Alice.")

Seriously though, those are nice but don't offer much closet
space. Does your bedroom not have a closet or do you just want
extra closet space. Perhaps your bedroom was not meant to be a
bedroom?

When I first moved here 100 years ago, I shared a 2-story, 3
bedroom condo with 3 other fellows for a year. One of them turned
the dining room into his bedroom by hanging curtains on the
doorway openings - one to living room and one to kitchen. He had
no closet because of this. He used the hall closet near the front
door, usually used for coats, etc.

Actually it's a type of furniture; a combination chest and closet, we
had them in the bedrooms of our house that was built in 1910, many
older houses had no bedroom closets or they were so small that people
used chifferobes also. Sears Roebuck etal. sold them, also just
wardrobes without drawers, often on legs with wheels. Nowadays they
are commonly found in stores that sell antique furniture and fine
examples can be quite pricey. Many were essentially an upright cedar
chest, some very ornate and made of rare woods:

My ex-inlaws had a two bedroom house and three children, two boys and a
girl. My ex-husband shared a bedroom with his younger brother. They
turned the dining room into their daughter's bedroom with curtains to
separate it exactly as you say. She did have a chest of drawers in the
room.

Yes, it's a Southern American term for a tall (standing) wooden chest

called a wardrobe or armoire.

Want more sarcasm? Just some friendly "teasing" actually:

McDonald's recently announced a new sandwich.
The "McBiddy."
"Lightly steamed steak, thinly sliced, with a special sauce on a
sesame seed bun."

I looked up the ingredient list and saw that the "special sauce"
is merely a tablespoon of canned cream of mushroom soup, straight
from the can - not thinned down.

Exactly my point, thanks Joan.

Gary keeps weighing about "bullying". Julie (I don't call her Ju-Ju)
and the other J, Kuthe's posts. As if neither one of them put all this
stuff out there without expecting comments. It's Usenet. It's not
bullying. They thrive on it. I think it's funny Gary is a
self-appointed champion. They don't really need his help.

I'm not blameless. Both of those J's and a B and a couple of other
trolls are easy enough to disprove. Kuthe is too much of an easy and
obvious shot, which is what he's going for.

I do try to shift the talk to food. Didn't I just bake some chicken and

Ophelia, Gary and the Bruce are the official holier-than-thou bully
patrol. They get to the call the shots on appropriateness and whether
or not you are treating Kuthe with a high level of kindness. However
Gary is very willing to pile on if in the mood.

The Bruce also patrols for appropriate political affiliations around the
globe but mostly the USA and of course inspects all food choices to be
perfectly sure you don't consume anything that has/had a mother. He also
takes environmental awareness readings and charts your daily progress.
