While that may be the reason, it is uncouth to post your sexual habits
on a cooking newsgroup. We've often had some adult banter and teasing
but there are tasteful limits. He may be very welcome to discuss his
actions in the right place so he should go there.

I would be hard pressed to think of anything he has posted that would
endear him to anyone. There is the possibility that may have posted
something nice at one time or another. If he did, it was overwhelmed
with the strange rants, the gloating about the money he inherited from
the father he despised, the former friend who is not his worst enemy,
boasting about the time he has infested in shaving his balls and jerking
off....

He doesn't have the best personality, that's true. I can't recall any
of his posts that were not basically self-serving, come to think of
it. And when it comes to food related posts... well, it's basically
sweet hot beans or nothing.

OB Food: I think it'll be an omelet here for breakfast, with various
greens and herbs from the garden.

I have been told we are having a chicken stir fry.... and I am cooking.

Later in the evening we are going to scoot over to Niagara Falls to see
the Festival of Lights. We saw it about a month ago when we were there
for a concert but there was no snow at the time and we thought we should
return sometime when there was lots of snow. We have about as much snow
as we are ever going to have, so tonight is the night.

Looks good. Ironically, it reminds me of Thailand (sans the snow of
course).

Hey John, I made a new dish. What I really wanted was a Chorizo dish
but didn't have any and it wasn't worth driving over the snow (only 3
inches but still didn't want to). I made something very like it though.

I'll post the full version soon but that has meat. This is one that
works with no meat.

1 can corn
1 can Veg-All
1 can black beans
2 cans crushed tomatoes
1.5 teaspoons Korean red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic

Add all together without draining cans, simmer 20 minutes. Onions,
carrots, green beans would not be amiss. Your own hot-sweet beans with
some of the cooking liquid would work. Diced canned tomatoes would be
fine. Regular chili power will work for the Korean red pepper (which
btw is inexpensive and sold in larger bags of 8oz for less than 2$).

I had it over rice.

My full version adds 1lb each ground beef and ground sausage, browned
then let drain a bit with slotted spoon then into the mix.

Might be useful in vegetarian version for you! Makes 8 cups with the
meat, 5 or so without it.

Should work out at 50cents a 1 cup serving if using cans. Less if you
use your own dried beans (can be other types, don't have to be black
ones).

John's posts have gotten crazier as time goes by. No
students are going to want to live with the Beatoff King
of Bel-Nor in the future. Who in their right mind would
rent a room in a house where the live-in landlord is so
obviously a nutcase? Young persons know how to use
Google. Plus, after the purple deck thing, the city
inspector has John on his radar, and every new person
who moved in would require an occupancy permit, and
rightly or wrongly, the inspector is likely to be
exceptionally picky about every little thing.

He's stuck with a house built for inter generational
families that he has to heat/cool, and pay taxes and
insurance on. He's probably too stubborn to sell it,
to cut his losses, and buy a tiny house suitable for a
single resident, which is the rational thing to do.
That could net him almost $100K, enough to allow
him to delay Social Security for a few more years.

They've never 'discussed' food unless her stroking him about his deadpan

John has never told *anyone* where he's working, Carol. He makes vague
references, like the clinic where he couldn't figure out how to work the
tablet charting system. Or the woman he called "granny" who was the
grandmother of some kid he played Basketbear with. He claimed she was
supposed to call him to come back back but she never did. No big surprise.

Steve said he reported John's irrational posts to the *Nursing Board*.
The same Nursing Board that censured him for leaving a bedridden
non-verbal child alone in the house at the end of his shift. Would you
have wanted Nurse Kuthe to take care of your daughter when she was a
child? If so, you're as nutty as he is. :(

His agency already knows due to his constant excuses. If you happen to
believe they sent him out on jobs he always finds reasons not to show
up. It doesn't take all day to change a tire on a car, not even on a Leaf.

Did you happen to notice in Kuthe's latest got a job post he mentioned
his *new* agency? There are only a few nursing agencies in St. Louis.
In the next sentence John said they didn't call him back. But he THINKS
he has a job on Monday... yeah, right.

Meanwhile, hospitals are still clamoring for qualified nurses.

I would love it if he got a job.

The real question though, is it low? OR Is it the right thing to do?
We only know what we see posted here by John. Would you let him watch
and treat your child from what you have seen?

If the answer is yes, end of conversation. If the answer is no, do you
have a moral and ethical obligation to make the information available to
potential employers?

Do you think it is appropriate in a cooking newsgroup to post
information on how you masturbate? How you care for your genitalia?
What porn links you watch? Yes, we all post a lot of off topic subjects
here but most are things we would discuss with our friends, family,
co-workers.

I wonder what sort of creepy behaviour you would tolerate from a person
before you would alert authorities. We don't know that Steve actually
did those things, but I can imagine they had an impact on John. He has
either been lying about his jobs or he is just stringing people along.

Never mind his constant flaunting of his nursing and computer
engineering qualifications and weird fantasies about shared student
housing with young female Asian students. He started boasting about
getting a nursing job more than a year ago and has since crowed about
several jobs that he had that never materialized. Then there were the
placements, the meet and greet sessions. One of the gigs lasted a few
days. Some of them never happened, and then when he actually had one he
could not make it because he had a flat tire. ?????

You seem to want to be the voice of reason here. Maybe you should be
trying to talk some sense into John. He really is a disturbed
individual. I would not be calling a nursing agency in another state to
rat the guy out, but I can tell you that I heard my neighbors were going
to hire someone I knew and he was like John, I would be over there in
the blink of an eye.

I bought a jar of the prepared enoki mushrooms. Mostly, you use it as a topper for hot rice. It's quite good that way. When I was growing up, we used to top our rice with nori tsukudani. It's awesome stuff that has a very similar taste. Beats me how mushrooms could taste like seaweed.
