It’s tempting to blame demographic defections on culture-war stupidity like the insistent use of loathed words
like “Latinx,” but that’s just a symptom of the real problem: Democrats under Biden have become the party of
the nomenklatura. Their base is the slice of hyper-educated, jargon-spouting bureaucrats whose ranks are
growing thanks to their skill at siphoning resources to themselves before they have a chance to reach a
wider base of regular people:

'There are plenty of workers in America, it's just that many are occupied at Soviet style bureaucratic nonsense, like
health insurance, management consulting, university administration, hospital billing, etc. Private equity has 100k
workers earning large salaries doing arson.'

These new commissars are the most hated people in the country, and they’re the Democrats’ main constituency.

Every species of viper and corporate parasite is swimming in riches now, from tax-evading private equity titans to
the oil & gas CEOs who are right now gouging everyone, to old pals in the banking sector (Goldman’s just-announced
special 1% bonus celebrating last year’s record $27 billion profit was a nice touch), all thriving but lionized so long
as they mask appropriately and genuflect to “norms.”

Meanwhile, the party increasingly demonizes every species of complaining underclass person as a right-wing enemy, even the minorities.

What is the Federalist Papers short definition?
Federalist papers, formally The Federalist, series of 85 essays on the
proposed new Constitution of the United States and on the nature of
republican government, published between 1787 and 1788 by Alexander
Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay in an effort to persuade New York
state voters to support ratification

I got a 90%; yay, Michael!

I did not enjoy High school, but history (and government, to an extent)

I just went back. They do rotate. Some were the same. The Statue of
Liberty was in this group but not Susan B.

Gary

Yes they do rotate questions. I plan to try again later.

One I missed was:
Who wrote the Constitution?

Choices were:
- George Washington
- James Madison
- Abe Lincoln
- Thomas Jefferson

I knew it wasn't Washington or Lincoln (lol)
I guessed Madison but it was Jefferson.

I wasn't so sure. So sue me...it's been forever since jr.high history.
My one college history class was all about the Civil War.

I also got the "What started the Civil War?" question wrong.
Popular belief is that the slavery issue started it and that was the
correct answer but I know it's wrong.

Secession of the 11 slave states from the union was the cause.
Lincoln didn't like slavery but he put up with it until the South
decided to leave.

Their issue was unfair economic issues from the north, not slavery.

Only after the outcome of the war was decided did he free the slaves.
Probably as paybacks to the South. The spoils of war go the the winner.

Noncitizens’ Right to Vote Becomes Law in New York City

Starting next year, 800,000 legal permanent residents will be eligible to vote in municipal elections.

By Grace Ashford
Jan. 9, 2022

Mayor Eric Adams, setting aside prior misgivings, allowed a bill to become law on Sunday
that would grant more than 800,000 noncitizens the right to vote in municipal elections.

“I believe that New Yorkers should have a say in their government, which is why I have and
will continue to support this important legislation,” the mayor said in a statement.

“I look forward to bringing millions more into the democratic process,” he added.

The measure applies to legal residents, including those with green cards, and so-called
Dreamers who were brought to the country illegally as children but were allowed to
remain under a federal program known as DACA. Although the City Council approved
the bill last month, New York law provides the mayor the opportunity to veto it within
30 days. Without any action, the bill passes into law automatically, as happened with this measure.

Because of the new law, an estimated 808,000 adults will be eligible to vote beginning
Jan. 9, 2023, according to the City Council. They will be able to vote in primary and
general elections for citywide contests, like those for mayor and public advocate, as
well as in local races, like those for City Council and borough presidents. The law
does not allow noncitizens to vote in state or federal elections.

On Monday, the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit against the
mayor, City Council and the city Board of Elections, challenging the law as unconstitutional.

In a statement, Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee,
accused Democrats of attempting to subvert elections by allowing noncitizens to
vote, adding: “American elections should be decided by American citizens.”

Gaining qualifications generally only requires a functioning memory.
It does not automatically imply an ability to think critically.

For example, I pissed off the doctor I was seeing last year when I
questioned his diagnosis that he was adamant he was correct. I saw the
lack of logic in how he arrived at his conclusion... He said I had
dermatitis, I countered with my diagnosis of a melanoma. I asked for a
biopsy, which he grudgingly agreed to. Guess who was right?
After that, I chose another doctor.

Our governing party loves immigrants. They settle in the big cities and
vote Liberal. We have an ongoing problem with aliens coming across the
border illegally. Trudeau prefers the word "irregular". The fact is that
anyone entering the country is supposed to do so at a regular border
crossing.

The thing is that we have an agreement with the US about safe third
countries. They cannot cross from the US to Canada and claim refugee
status because they are coming from a safe country. If they come across
at a regular border entry point they would be denied entry... so they
come across at "irregular" points.

Instead of putting up a fence or installing an official entry point, the
nitwits staying cops there to carry their luggage for them and transport
them to an immigration centre where, already being in the country, they
can apply for their refugee status and are automatically eligible for
health care, schooling, welfare and housing.

We do have an immigration program. They can apply to immigrant, pay the
processing fees and be required to support themselves or get someone to
sponsor them. That that would take time and their money, so they come
here illegally and get a free ride.... but they vote Liberal.

Does it really matter? At least they are required to be living in the
US lawfully, but they only have to live there for 30 days to qualify to
vote.

Not surprisingly, he has it very wrong. _Legal_ permanent residents
(green card holders) have been given the right to vote in New York. No
one is giving _illegal migrants_ the right to vote.

Yeah, 30 days. Because they know these people will overwhelmingly vote
Democrat, that's the only reason for this law.

But with such loose voter restrictions, you can bet a goodly number of illegals
*will* be casting ballots...

Yep, same cynical tactic used as in the US and UK.

Ridiculous of course. And sounds quite intentional.

Willing to bet many lifelong Canadians are homeless at the same time.

Meanwhile, in Australia we are something like $16K out of pocket so
far for our visa application and probably still another year and more
$ before approval.

That's very important. Or the Dutch, French, Spanish, German language,
if that's where you're emigrating to. Otherwise, you'll always remain
a spook.
