Nice pic.

Here's a picture from 1960:

My wife has pictures that have that look. It's square format in black and white or washed out colors. That background would be similar or they would be standing in front of an old wooden house or car. My wife's brothers would be dressed in a similar fashion. People would look like they were squinting because the sun would be in their eye. Looks like you guys were going to church.

My wife doesn't have many, if any, pictures of herself with her mom. Her mom drove off a cliff with a married couple and a guy that was not her husband. That plunge left a lot of kids without a mom or dad or both. It was a most awful event.

My brother-in-law called yesterday. He's driving from California to Montana to visit/tend to their mom's grave. The tombstone has sunken in the grave so he's going to reset it and level it off. The drive will take him 15 hours. My guess he's going to do it non-stop. My wife's brothers and sister think nothing of driving across the country. That's one of the most amazing things about them. They are wild rovers.

There you go speculating about my thoughts and gossiping
again, Bruce.

That thought has never crossed my mind ever when I see a
woman with bright red (or any bold color) lipstick.
I just think it's sad that they think that makes them look
better. A little makeup can be fine and even enhance some
but please leave your lips alone.

Women have a natural beauty and, to me, leave your lips
alone. Your real lips are perfect, no need to fix what
isn't broken.

I see so many very beautiful actresses on TV or movies with
no lipstick. Then look at them on the red carpet preshows
of Oscar's, Emmy's, etc. Dressed to the hilt and most
with bright red lipstick. What a sad transformation.

You like natural food. I like natural women. That's all.

Thank goodness my mother moved out of her house and into a condo a few
years after my father died. We got dealt with my father's stuff at that
time, taking keepsakes and valuables at the time and a number of trips

years later there was a lot less to dispose of.

I actually hope my mother never moves out of her house. She'll never find
a more affordable place than her little two-bedroom bungalow, and a nice
quick death rather than ending up in a nursing home is "a consummation

I'll put up with sorting through all her junk in return for that.

A statement that shows you haven't a clue about any woman's makeup. That
'no lipstick' you're seeing is a very neutral color. She's not sporting
a completely natural, no lipstick, bare lips. The makeup gurus recommend
if you are wearing strong eye makeup then you should opt for a very
neutral lipstick. If you go with an eye-catching lipstick shade then
your eye make up should be very toned down and almost appear as if you
are not wearing any.

A LOT of women do. Some have a ruddy and uneven complexion. Some have
dark circles. You'd be surprised to see a lot of the women you admire
because they are 'makeup-free' actually make-up free.

Bad examples. Both of each are wearing lipstick,
then the "before" pics, they have some white crap

Why not post pics of two women, before any makeup and

I just did, dummy. Both of these women have a skin condition known as
vitiligo. It's a devastating disease and it's a lack of pigment in the
skin and affects both women and men no matter their race. These are
pictures of examples of women with and without makeup showing why many
women wear makeup. It's to even out the skin tone and correct conditions
they wish they did not have. Vitiligo not only occurs on the face, it
can be anywhere on the body.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vitiligo/symptoms-causes/syc-20355912

Here's a picture of a pretty girl with a ruddy complexion. Without makeup
she probably got tired of people asking if she was sunburned or was her
blood pressure elevated? A bit of makeup smoothed out that problem and
stopped people from staring and bombarding her with questions.

No, that would look totally unnatural on me. I have a very fair
complexion. The shade I buy is called "natural blonde" but my hair
comes out looking light red. I went to the hospital a few years back
for a colonoscopy. I was amazed at how many of the staff asked me if
I'm a natural redhead. I mentioned it to the neighbor who drove me
there. She said, "Your hair *is* red!" Could have knocked me over with
a feather. :)

Gary doesn't know the difference between PTA day time meeting make up
and romantic evening makeup... that's why he's all alone... Gary
thinks the Amish look is attractive.

Most gals wear some kind of neutral hued or softly tinted lip gloss
24/7, no one wants to kiss chapped lips... in cold climes with heat on
air gets very dry so lips and all skin suffers. I wear Chap Stick, the
flavored ones are very nice, and recently I've discovered that Blistex
is better. Garish thinks women who wear parfume are trashy. My wife
mostly wears a mauve lipstick, she wears Tabu parfume, I call it
Cleavage Candy... she daubs a bit into all her nooks and crannys, I
love it. Gary has lived alone so long he wouldn't know how to be with
a woman, he's probably almost gay... he wouldn't know how to be gay
either. If Gary saw his daughter wearing make up he'd probably want
to beat her.

I've been wearing Blistex lip balm for years and wear it when I'm sans
lipstick. A bit on my lips before bedtime every night, too. Great stuff.

You are correct in that I've never heard of vitiligo.
A very sad condition and obviously they would want to
use makeup. There are so many diseases and sydromes that
not everyone is awhere of unless they or someone they know
has the issue.

And even those 2 women were wearing lipstick in the
before and after pics and *that's* what we were talking
about. You know darn well that I refer to the average
woman wearing makeup, not some extreme cases.

Try posting a pic of a pretty woman with and without makeup.
I can do that if you're stubborn.

A "bit of makeup?" She obviously sprayed her entire face
with a makeup airbrush. (only 29.95 and get a second one
for a separate fee). Even that picture is not before and
after about wearing lipstick.

And yes, she is a pretty girl. I have no problem with her
'before' picture. I would much rather date or live with her like
that than live with full fake makeup face. Her natural
look is fine with me.

And if it bothers her, she could cut her hair
into bangs to hide her forehead.
Yes Joan, even her natural looks are better than her
full face makeup deal to me. She still could lose
the damn red lipstick. That's my issue.

Bright or bold unnatural color lips definitely draw the
attention to the lips. Why? Because they are fake looking.
Reminds me of Cheshire Cat in "Alice in Wonderland."
The cat fades out leaving just the smile.

I agree with both comments. Blistex is good. I have some.
Chapstick, not so good.
I do have another good stick made by Banana Boat.
It's a good moisturizer (aloe vera) plus it has a
SPF of 30. Good for preventing sunburned lips and
also prevents chapped lips in cold weather.

I once bought a novelty lip stick thing. It was
"Reese's Peanut Butter cup" flavored. heh heh
It sure smell exactly like the candy but I never
used it as it was an odd lip balm.

It might have been good on a woman that I was kissing
though. Not only good kisses but flavored kisses. :)

I've suggested Brussels sprouts slaw here for years, the caviar of
slaws... best with freshly picked or they can get bitter. I grow
Brussels sprouts so once a year I make somr into slaw. Easy to grow
but a lot of work to remove from the stalk and trim which is why they
are expensive. I grow regular cabbages too, large 10+ pounders, the
tender middles become slaw, the outer leaves are steamed, stuffed, or
become soup... the heart becomes cooks treat.

Oddly enough, I never put butter on broccoli. I either stir-fry it or
brush it with oil and grill or roast it.

The best cruciferous vegetable I've had recently was oven-roasted savoy
cabbage. It was sweet (from the vegetable's natural sugars) and delicious.

I don't hate it, but if I'd never eat it again, that would be ok too.

Ok. There I'm the same way about some foods, although none of them
come to mind at the moment.

a minor vegetable in Europe. Pigs don't come from the US but every
American has a pork chop behind their ear. Etc.
