well we had a pot luck at work and for once I didn't solicit suggestions
here because I thought I was going to make polenta

except I realized that you can't just warm it up in the microwave and
that's pretty much my only option other than the toaster oven

so I went back to this recipe in the Cook's Illustrated Italian Classics
for white beans with tomates, garlic and sage - which is pretty good as
far as a recipe for beans goes - and I was pretty sure no one else would
bring this

so here ya go - if you're looking for a pot luck idea, this one works

I like the looks of that. Could I have the recipe for it?
Thanks

sure! someone has already typed it out for me and infringed copyright by
posting it here:

<http://shazaminthekitchen.blogspot.com/2008/06/white-beans-with-tomatoes-garlic-and.html>

this dude mentions soaking the beans but it's not in the original recipe
and is unnecessary (as we all know)

I followed the recipe exactly *except* I had to interrupt the first
beans cooking step because of a scheduling conflict, but the final outcome
was the same (beans got cooked just fine)

and I only used half an onion - a whole onion seemed like overkill to me

it's not as garlicky as you might expect based on the sheer amount of
garlic in the recipe
