Got all those plus copperheads here. I wear thick leather boots
outside. Snakes like to hunt in the veggie garden because that's
wehre rodents feed... I make a lot of noise entering the garden and
then wait, sure enough the snakes come slithering out. I, also carry
a sharp flat nosed shovel. I typically get one or two a year, I'd
rather they just go off but some are extremly agressive.
Today the sun finally came out. I tried mowing this PM, still too wet
in most areas. Yesterday I roasted that 5lb top round for ddinner.
but was too much for us, so early this morning I thinly sliced about 1
1/2 pounds for sandwiches. the remainder I diced for beef barley
'shroom soup... filled an 8 qt pot, we each had a large bowl (28 ounce
chili bowl), tomorrow I'll freeze the remainder, will be about ten 1
pint containers. Soup is always a good way to use all the lonely
veggies; added the last two carrots, a half bunch celery, and one
finely minced sweet onion, she'll never know... used dehy parsley and
dill, four bay leaves.
