My wife made a boatload of potato salad for the 4th. We still have some
today. I've paired it with weird stuff. Here's an example.

<https://postimg.cc/JHxKPWg5>

That's a beef tenderloin and a blueberry/cornbread muffin. :)
Anybody here ever had that combo? I didn't think so.

I'd save the muffin for dessert but the other two are a good combo.

I'm with Ed, the tater salad and tenderloin are a great combination. The
blueberry/cornbread muffin I'd save for dessert slathered with lots of butter,
of course.

Not me. I'd be vanishingly unlike to have a cornbread muffin
of any kind, especially if potato salad were available. I rarely
have double starch.

The plate you pictured desperately needs vegetables. Enough to
cover half the plate.

Clarification: why not the steak & potato salad? When I said "nope" I
meant, I've never had that combo. I've also still never had a
blueberry/cornbread muffin. ;)

Maybe, I should have said cornmeal instead of cornbread? Flour, sugar,
cornmeal, baking powder, salt, eggs, oil, milk and butter. :)

Certainly it seems worth the experiment.

How about alcohol pairing? The other day, I was
in the position of deciding what to gargle with
after a minor fail at gasoline siphoning.

BREATHE IN THROUGH NOSE; OUT THROUGH MOUTH.

At first I thought wiper-washer fluid, but then
I remembered the bottle of rum I had handy.

High-school organic chemistry suggested longe
chain ethanol (rum) vs. methenol (wiper fluid)

For a few hours I tasted gasoline in my belches.

And then there is this toothpaste:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darlie

"Darlie (originally known as Darkie) is an oral care brand owned and manufactured by the Hawley & Hazel Company with focus on Chinese and Southeast Asian markets. The company is headquartered in Hong Kong with manufacturing facilities in Zhongshan. The name, logo, and brand-mascot of the company have been the subject of ongoing controversy regarding racial stereotyping.

Hawley & Hazel marketed Darkie toothpaste using a parody of American minstrel performer Al Jolson (who had become popular for his blackface performances), as its logo and brand identification.[b] "Darky," (or "darkie"), is a term that can be used as an ethnic slur for black people. The packaging featured an image of a wide-eyed white man in blackface, wearing a top hat, monocle, and bow-tie, an image closely associated with minstrel shows..."

A couple of handfuls of frozen blueberries. I forgot to add that to my
ingredients list. Oops!
I can't remember where I got the idea. If you hate blueberries, you'll

Not if you just gargle with it. According to
wiki, it takes about 10 ml to cause problems.

If no rum had been available, I probably would
have gargled very carefully with the wiper fluid.

I had 2.5 year old gas in my compactor.
I had mixed in stabilizer for prolonged
storage and had just checked the oil
and cleaned out the air cleaner.

I figured it's only about a dollar,
so why not use new gasoline?

A half inch hose is really too big for gasoline,
because of low surface tension &c not stopping air
from 'back-sliding' up the downside.

I bought a 1/8 hose to finish my job.

The engine started on the first pull.
