I'm going to sit back and watch the vultures peck at your tomatoes.

Don't underestimate the long beak of the RFC vulture.

Look OK to me. Nothing beats a fresh from the vine home grown. I have
some most every night this time of year. Fresh basil on them too.

He didn't water them consistently , that's why they have those ugly
cracks - and they should have had another day or two to get fully ripe .
Probably taste like grocery store TSO's .

Yes. I can confirm they are indeed tomatoes.

It's more complicated than that. Usually a run of hot, dry weather

We water ours when it hasn't rained for a few days depending on the
soil moisture . I pick them when they're more ripe than those . Straight
from the vine to the table , if we can't eat them today or tomorrow I
freeze them for use in spaghetti sauce or soups . I'd rather can them
but it's not worth the effort for 2 or 3 quarts .

I leave the watering up to Mother Gaia. She's been doing this for longer than you have been alive!

Exactly. That is what happens to tomatoes here. This is tomato season
and the weather tends to be hot and sunny and growth is steady. If you
get a lot of sudden growth the tomatoes grow so fast the skin pops near
the top. The same thing happens to cherries.

She doesn't care of the tomatoes are palatable. Only that their seeds spread
and germinate.

In fact, Mother Gaia's tomatoes are about the size of raisins. It took
evil humans to breed them up to the size you are growing.

I know mayo technically doesn't have to be refrigerated, but...
ewww. It gets that clear, snot look to it.

As for tomatoes, I'm watching my neighbors house for a few week so I
get all her tomatoes.

Again, nice tomatoes. You have a storage bin for your onions. I use
recycled costco boxes to store my potatoes, tomatoes, onions, etc. Where
did you purchase that storage bin?

My unopened jar goes in the 'frig the day before I open it. It's just

That reminds me. Has anyone else tried the "Very Cherry" plums at Costco?

I think Popeye just grabbed his mayo out of the fridge.
