My son emailed me today in the midst of moving to his new house to tell
me about a great movie on Netflix. He is usually pretty much in tune
with new movies and did not know how he had missed this gem. The Death
Of Stalin is a very black comedy loosely based on the events surrounding
the death of Stalin and Kruschev's rise to power. Steve Buscemi plays
Kruschev. Jeffrey Tambor plays Georgy Malenkov and Michael Palin plays
Molotov. It was hilarious.

I wasn't involved in the casting. Despite it being loosely based on
Stalin's death and the power struggle to replace him, it is a comedy,
and Buscemi's performance is terrific. Jeffrey Tambor and Michael Palin
are in it too.

Peter O'Toole is nothing like T.E. Lawrence, but we all got over it.

He was a bit taller but otherwise remarkably similar. King Feisal met
him and remarked on it!

True.

It just occurred to me to wonder how much longer the "Who Died Last Year"
portion of the Oscars will be next time.

I would enjoy it more if it consisted of well-known politicians!

My grandfather met him in Egypt during WWI. He didn't think they were
much alike. And grandad towered over Lawrence.
