Wouldn't it be a good idea to paint the underside of the stairs first?
Also, I thought you now had a job? What happened?

I saw my contact Nurse Kathy and she said because the facility A/C was out the Residents were all moved to other facilities but now that the home building's A/C is back on the Residernts would be moving back in and she would call me soon.

Alex will be disappointed.

I would paint the underside last due to drip downs. My steps to the
area above my garage are almost the exact baby shit brown color and I am
repainting them. That color is really ugly. John is colored blind.

He's desperately looking for a B-Job and of course can't find one even
after all of these years. (:

I LIKE this brown, I consider it a chocolate brown. Not Dark Chocolate.

On _my_ screen it looks like butterscotch.

It's your party and you are not afraid of color and that's all good. I
paint a LOT mostly plein air and always oil. Details and color are easy
for me and I can manipulate a paint brush on canvas and on a wall. It
looks like you choose color independently of where you intent to use it
though. It seems to be your theme.. All over the place with no
continuity. Doesn't not make you a bad person but planning makes life
flow much easier IMO.

According to my monitor, if it's chocolate brown it's not even milk
chocolate.. too much yellow.

Maybe you can get a quick whiff while he's distracted.

I have no idea why you bothered wasting money painting it pink and
purple in the first place. Now you're spending more money to cover it
up. Sheesh.

I consider it bilirubin brown.

Still, that's one of Mother Gaia's colors, too.

I had the $$. and I LIKE Pink and Purple! Now it's just the cost of paint and sweat equity.

Decks always look better after a fresh coat of paint anyway! I'm keeping the far side back where I like to sit and have my moring Cuppa Plus!

Again, I'm stunned. Not only the color, but when painting a back
porch/deck, the steps are the last thing you should paint.
Not only that, you did that right when your roofers were
still up there working above the deck.

Old World Roofing has a trestle ON the Deck, so no, I will wait until they move their trestle. And I have to paint it, the new Building Inspector says so in her report!

Besides freshly painted decks always look better!

Well you made a big ass mess. Pink, purple covered up with that gagging
brown color. You now have 1/8 inch of various paint colors on there to
peel off. Total waste of time and material. You never have a project
that is completely finished.. which is sorta messed up.

"Call me soon" sounds like "don't call us, we'll call you". :(

That kinda describes John's life..."never follows through" and "never takes responsibility" are two terms that come immediately to mind...

I prefer to paint all the difficult spots first, then do the other
easier and more prominent areas... then go back and tidy up paint
runs, etc.

Agree, it's not a very nice shade of brown.

Maybe Bernie can help? I mean, he's not busy these days.

Wooden outdoor stair treads shouldn't be painted on the underside,
when it rains they won't readily dry and will rot... people make that
mistake with wooden decks too.

A moment of silence, please. Sheldon said something that's right.
Let's all pull out our lighters and celebrate this moment.
