I'm very happy it's gone, no more douchebag tenants, and I'll get a
big reduction in property taxes and insurance.

That last sentence explains it. The last two tenants paid no rent so
were evicted. Then it was sitting empty for four years. The obama
economy sucks, and people here can't pay rent because they have no
marketable skills... there are plenty of good jobs but the hillybillys
don't qualify. So by getting rid of it my property taxes will be
reduced by about $2,000, more than any profit I could clear renting if
someone actually paid rent. Tenants do more damage than their rent
covers plus they are very annoying, they are noisy, lots of visiters
driving in and out all day and night. In 12 years I only had one
tenant who paid rent and was very responsible (a school teacher in
town), but she was only here for one year, she got married and moved.
I was sorry to see her go as she was very quiet, she had a pet
dachhound that was old and she had a rabbit, the rabbit was old too
and died, it's buried here. Truth is I don't need or want a tenant,
it's not worth the aggrivation.

I also had costs to maintain it even when empty, I had to heat the
utility room or the well's pressure tank and associated pipes would
freeze. The new pressure tank won't freeze, it's self draining when
power is turned off. I'm keeping the well as it's a very good well,
gives fantastic volume, pumps 22 gallons per minute, twice what I have
at the well at my house, but its water is twice as hard so a water
softener would use double the salt, that's why I don't have it supply
my house but it's great for watering plants, plants in the ground
don't care about water hardness. I don't mind that it's on it's own
electric service, I never use more power than the minimum to maintain
the account, it powers the well plus all my outside lighting, powers
my barn and gardening shed (that garage), and my little shop, and
keeps the feral cats warm... the minimum bill is $60 every two months,
so at a dollar a day it pays for me to keep it, I'd still need to add
that much to my house electric bill. I'll only have cold water but
that's fine for washing up when working in the garden and will be fine
for washing schmutz off vegetables and gardening tools, will be good
for washing the tractors too. I'm thinking of placing a bird bath
pool/fountain near the shed, I'll have plenty of water to keep it
clean and a small electric heater will keep it from freezing in
winter, there are even solar powered bird bath heaters. Only problem
I can forsee is a small pool may be taken over by the Canada geese, I
can get around that by having the kind of fountain thats attached to a
wall... something here would work:
http://www.garden-fountains.com/wall-fountains/
For water I'll have an outside hydrant:

It's surprising how big birds get on the mainland. Our birds are small little things. When I was in first or second grade there would be pictures of a robin in my picture book. They were cute and small. What a surprise it was when I saw one in real life. Monstrously large! The same goes for crows.

When I was in Minnesota, those Canadian geese left a big impression on me. They were damn huge and they were squirting/ejecting/carpet-bombing doo-doo all over the place. It looked like they ate a bad batch of Nutella. That's something they don't show you that on National Geo specials. I'm just glad to find out the truth about these critters. :)

Canada geese provide wonderful compost, all vegetarian, no odor, and
best of all it's free. Often I have hundreds of Canada geese here.
These are two families that were born here, they return every year,
they love my airport. A large gaggle of Canada geese coming in for a
landing is a remarkable sight, precisely synchronized, much more
precise than the Blue Angels. They like freshly mowed:

It is typical of the residents of tourist areas to have a low opinion of
the people who come and spend money in their town. Sure, the places gets
gussied up, nice roads and sidewalks, nice store fronts etc. Restaurant
prices soar. Useful stores are displaced by retailers catering to
souvenir shoppers. Parking is harder to find. They are busy all summer
long and then the place turns into a ghost town in the winter.

Yeah, but to be fair you can't blame anyone from concluding it was you,
given that you have used just about every racial slur there is towards just
about every minority there is, except maybe the n word. Maybe you don't
realize you're painting yourself as a bigot and racist when you so casually
insult whole races of people all the time. Fact is, that's the impression
you give people. So even if you didn't put up those tags, it was just
logical for people to assume you did. Anyway there's some food for thought,
do whatever you want with it.

Yeah, sure. But he never uses the N word. Ignorant people use that
word. I'm a blonde blue eyed American yet I was called a "Jap" by kids

I befriended a guy in primary school (elementary school in the U.S?),
his family emigrated from Germany and he sure got a lot of flack in
1970's white Anglo Australia. You can imagine how he was treated and
the names he was called. Well, not in front of me they didn't at

Thankfully things have changed out of sight since then.

I had a similar experience. When I was 9 I befriended a boy who moved in
down the street. No one else would have much to do with the family
because they were German. His parents both had strong German accents.
To most others at the time they were Krauts. They became a second
family to me. He and the rest of his family all ended up on the west
coast but we still keep in touch.

Racist tags were added to the pictures he posted and he still hasn't
removed the tags. Why that's so hard about that, I don't know. All
he needs to do is sign into his account, click on the URL's he posted,
and change the tags. Or he could simply delete the pictures. Problem

He's been married to a woman from Central America (Belize?) for the past
25 years. I would assume he's somewhat fluent in Spanish. But NO. I just
looked it up and it's the only country there that has English as the
official language.

This one thing I've often wondered. The US unofficial language has been
English but we don't actually have an official language. Hence - all the
spanish translations on telephone and consumer products. I've always
thought we should pick an official language. Make it English - the
spanish speakers are the new citizens. If they want to live here, at
least learn the language and customs. If I moved to another country, I

He probably doesn't have an account. You don't need one to post there.
All my pics for years are tinypic and I don't have an account.

He either wrote those tags himself or someone somehow hacked into them
and did that. I don't see how though. If he doesn't have an account, I
doubt he can delete them. I suspect he joking wrote the tags thinking no
one would see them because he posted the direct .jpg link. (a Crystal
Palace episode)

Using my old Netscape browser, I got the direct link to the .jpg picture
and that's all I saw with no tags. That's why I missed them.

Last night, I pasted the url into a newer Firefox browser and I see that
his original addy is redirected to a different page that shows more than
just the picture. And thanks Jebus for posting that screen shot of what
you see.

Anyway...who ever wrote the tags is an assmunch and all this will pass
into ancient history soon enough.

We have two official languages, though French came about in the last
fifty years. I was agin it because I felt it was costly and the
money could be spent more effectively. So I often think of it when I
receive something from the gubermint, using twice the paper, twice the
ink, twice the postage and I open it and dump half in our paper
container by the mailboxes :)

Learning another language is easier for some than others, my father
and I could learn in a couple of weeks if with people who only spoke a
specific language, but my mother struggled. Of my 3 kids, the middle
one is like me and the other two more like my mother so I think it
comes down to some can, some can't. Spanish was the last one I
learned and now I find I struggle a bit with French, keep meaning to
go to French conversation one winter and finally get the Spanish out
of my head. Maybe I would find it not so easy now, I dunno.

Native Americans, the Spanish were the first to set foot in the area

I speak much better English than you, likely because from your writing
in broken English it's not your native tongue... what's with all the
sentence fragments?

My father being born in Riga, Latvia he spoke mostly Russian at home,
but he also spoke French, Spanish, German, and of course English. In
Brooklyn just about every household speaks different languages. Being
exposed to those languages I can speak them somewhat but I'm much
better at understanding conversations.

If you looked up Belize you surely would have learned that up until
relatively recently it was British Hondoras. Spanish is spoken but
not as a main language, most people mainly speak the native tongues,
variations of Creole, Mayan, and most everyone speaks some English. My
wife's family is primarily Mayan. She speaks English well because as
a young teenager her family moved to London, England where she lived
into her mid twenties when they moved to Queens, NY. In Belize she
attended school at an RC convent, she speaks Latin fluently, she
teaches Latin here as a substitute teacher.

For someone touting himself as the perfect English speaker - words
fail me!

These URLs are produced in the address bar when I clicked on your link
(twice). Same page every time. I wish you would show me exactly where on
that page you can add or delete a tag without signing in first. TinyPic help
says you have to be logged in to add a tag, and only the OP can delete a
tag.

Did you see I posted a 'tag' on Gary's picture? I wanted to check if it
could be done. It could! But he wasn't using an account.

I don't remember, but I just fiddled. One picture had no tag, so up
where the tag would go it said "Add new tag". So I guess the first
tagger gets to tag. One of the pics (the only one without a tag) I
tagged "new tag".

I also "uploaded' an image (one of the original URLs) and added a tag,
but I think this is a duplicate picture and won't be found with the
original URLs posted.

it can't have tags already - to play this game you'll have to browse to
a pic that says "Tags: Click to add Tags..." and put whatever you want --
