I've heard for years that you can plant the tops cut off the carrots. Last week, I actually did it. Godspeed little carrot friend.

defenses and mowed them all down to within a half inch of the ground
when they were 6-8 inches high. i thought they were goners. after i
fortified my defenses they came back and we had and nice harvest and
canned 18 pints of diced carrots. resilient they are. quite tasty too.

the fenced in garden through the open it gate it ran past a dozen times.
