So the nut driver, box cutter, and vice grips were cheap chinese junk?

I put a new roll of USA made toilet paper on my USA made holder,
then took a good ole USA shit.

I made coffee this morning, made my bed, had a bath, and later in the day
I went to Aldi's. Oh, I put a new roll of toilet paper on my holder
yesterday.

P.S. That trip to Aldi's involved b.u.r.n.i.n.g. g.a.s.

I had some oatmeal for breakfast and then some tea and toast with
apricot jam. I wasted some time on the computer and then my wife and I
went to the bank to submit our income tax and pay some bills. I went to
the grocery store to get a fw things (I can go more often than once
every two weeks). I went on weed patrol in my hard and was going to go
for a bicycle ride, but my buddy came by on his motorcycle and easily
convinced me I would have more fun on a motorcycle ride than a bicycle.
It turned out he was right. We had a nice ride.

Paying bills at the bank is slightly anachronistic. But submitting income
tax? Did you need to take out a loan to pay your taxes?

Yesterday, I submitted my income tax by putting a tax form into the mail.
Yeah, I know, I'm starting to be a bit anachronistic myself.

I put a yellow sticky note on my cheque with a hand-drawn sad faced smily.

My wife looks after the bills. She prefers to go to the bank once a
month to look after them. As long as she is willing to look after them I
them I have no problems with the way she does it.

No need for a loan. We both arranged for income tax deductions on our
pensions. Then we got CPP at age 60 and old age pension at 65, but had
not arranged to have more income ta deducted. We end up having to pay
every year, but my wife has her old age deposited to a separate account
and when the time comes to file taxes and pay it comes out of that account.

I had a professor at university who love fighting with the income tax
people. They used to try to hassle him every year but he would just
tell them he would see them in court and he always won.

But sensible! That way you have a paper and electronic record of paying.
When our tax people screwed up and tried to charge me penalties, I had
multiple lines of evidence to show them their error, which they corrected.

Co-incidentally, I always submit my taxes with paper forms.

The program I use is supposedly capable of filing electronically.
However, when I run the final 'Validate' command, it complains that I
have not checked-off a box on a worksheet somewhere that I can never find.

Said ommision (me not checking off said tick-box) prevents it from filing
electronically, so that command is greyed-out and I am invited to print
my form as a hardcopy.

75 miles per full charge sounds about right for the early models. My son's girlfriend wants to get rid of her Leaf which has a range of 30 miles or so. I'd grab that thing straight off except I have no way to charge it at my condo. Her car probably has some bad cells.

These days the range on new electric cars will be around 200 to 320 miles. My guess is that within 5 years, electric cars will have a range of 500+ miles per charge. They'll probably all use solid state battery chemistry.

Again, I'll say it was probably a suggestion but not a rule.

Think about it though....Go shopping one day (and maybe get
the virus)...then sit at home for 2 weeks (the recommended
isolation period)...then if you are still well, go shopping
again.

It does makes sense except most people have been
too stubborn to stay at home.

It probably was a suggestion, not a rule, but she has stuck to her guns
about it. She has had lots of opportunity to back up her claim with a
link, which should not be too hard to do with the number of times she
claims he has said it. Nothing yet. I suppose she will go first into
ignore mode and later one she will deny having said it at all.

BMW i3
81 miles (130 km) or 114 miles (183 km)

Hyundai IONIQ Electric
124 miles (200 km)

Volkswagen e-Golf
125 miles (201 km)

Nissan LEAF
Up to 150 miles (240 km)

Renault ZOE (Only Europe)
185 miles (300 km)

Chevy Bolt

Are most of these cars still in production? I haven't a clue and don't

Getting there can be half the fun. Short hop flights can be nice
because you can get from once place to another quite quickly and without
the boredom of a long flight. OTOH, you might miss a lot of scenery. I
have been on a number of very scenic drives. Driving across Canada or
the US offers lots of beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, there are also
vast stretches of boredom. FWIW, Google Maps estimates 60 hours to
driver from Halifax to Vancouver. vs, a 7 hour flight. btw... that
involves driving through the US. It would be even longer to stick to a
Canadian route. New York to San Francisco is more than 40 hours. That
is a work week at the wheel.

When my brother's wife died a few years ago he had plans to drive down
to Florida to visit our uncle. I tried to convince him that he would be
better off flying. Given his mental health issues and his tired he gets
with his medication, the 30 + hour drive would have been too stressful
for him. He would be lucky to get 6 hours a day driving. That would
mean a lot of meals on the road and 4 or 5 nights in hotels each way.

I used to watch The Flintstones on TV in a Japanese restaurant. On Friday nights, our family would go eat out. Japanese food and the Flintstones - could life get any better? I don't think so. I don't recall watching it at home in the early days. Perhaps we didn't have a TV.

As it goes, the Flintstones mobile was fairly ridiculous. It had a steering wheel but the design had no provisions for steering. It could only go in one direction. Fred had to point the car in the desired direction before leaving. To get back home required turning the car 180 degrees or driving in reverse. The newer models are a lot more practical.

Because of corona virus or because of obesity?

He was ragging on me a few weeks ago about going to the grocery store
too many times during the pandemic. This was more of the same.

Because I hate to travel. I'm done traveling. I want to sleep in my
own bed.

Now that my in-laws are dead, I don't have to travel anymore.

I like it in moderation. Once every couple of years, for a week max.

Please don't go all technical about the cartoon Flintstones car,
for God's sake. :o
