I like it...
I am just polishing off some chicken wings from my Chinese carryout place, they are scrumptious...

Tomorrow a chuck steak with frites and Bruxelles sprouts...
Yesterday for St. Paddy's day I met two old schoolmates, Joan and Chuck, that I had not seen
for **51** years, since HS... we met at the Celtic Knot, which was doing a GRAND business... I had
fish 'n chips, they had corned beef sammies...
We grew up together, so it was fun to catch up and share old memories... they've had a long and
happy marriage and have kids living in the area, so they might move up here eventually from
Western IL to be nearer to them...
Ah, memories... 60 years ago seems just like yesterday...!!!
"Remember in first grade when Dolores Ferri, the principal's daughter, wet her pants at
her seat because she was too scared to ask the teacher, Mrs. Kistler (who was my GRANDMA!)
to ask to go to the bathroom...
When we saw Lee Murphy at the 50th class reunion last summer, he was STILL a DICK...
Kathy ZImmerman has barely aged at all since HS...
Remember the day that our fourth - grade teacher, Mrs. Morrow (my AUNT!) came in and
told us that President Kennedy had been shot... we all started crying...
Brenda Griffith and her husband have made a life in West Africa doing missionary work... and
Brenda's parents who've been married for 70 years were at our HS reunion with them last year...!!!
GM: Andy Louck was always mean to me in PE class, he was so stupid and I HATED him...
Joan: Well, Greg, you'll be happy to know that he screwed up his life and still lives in his mom's basement...
GM: Hehehe...
Remember in 1970 when our new young HS Principal called some of the new young female teachers
into his office and chastised them for wearing shorty - short mini - skirts... some of the
male HS students were making "rude" comments...
Greg, remember that Christmas gift exchange in the fifth grade, and you gave me a nice
brooch - I still have it...!!! [ GM does not remember this, lol...!!! ]
Remember in first grade when Lee Murphy was asked to read something from our "Think and Do"
reading primer, and messed up... teacher Grandma Edith sternly admonished, 'Now Lee, it is THINK
AND DO, not "Guess and Do"...!!!" [ lol ]..."
Joan made me a nice gift of banana bread, and also they gifted me with a boxed selection of the
BEST chocolates around - YUM...!!! From Moline IL since 1908:
They gave me a Mint Assortment:

Lagomarcino’s is so much more than a longstanding Quad City attraction. It’s an American story
of family and tradition that has continued for more than hundred years...
. By 1907 the Lagomarcino’s had two children, Charlie and Mary. Their growing family made Angelo
think he should strike off on his own. In early 1908 Angelo found the perfect spot to grow his business – Moline, IL.
The early years were good to Angelo and his wife. Downtown Moline was a bustling place. At one time
there were no less than seven theaters within walking distance of Lagomarcino’s. After each showing,
the theater patrons would come to Lagomarcino’s for delightful ice cream treats. There were Ice Cream
Sodas, Malted Milks, and our special one-of-a-kind Hot Fudge Sundaes. Our customers could order
fancy sundaes such as the Butter Kist Almond, Dream Daddy, Hawaiian Twilight, or a Black Cherry
Banana Special. Lagomarcino’s also featured sandwiches, salads, homemade pie, and fountain drinks...
Even today our confections are made in our original copper kettle kitchen in the original Moline location,
a craft even Beth’s husband Terry has mastered, right by the side of Tom Jr.
Anyone who has sat in one of our handcrafted mahogany booths while sipping on a Green River, or has
undertaken the near impossible task of choosing from our selection of candies, knows at least part of
the Lagomarcino’s story. Now you know the whole story, along with the love and tradition that goes into
everything we do. The Lagomarcino’s story is one that will continue for at least another hundred years!..."
