11 months after paying the deposit, they've finally put an earth
station in or near Tasmania. The equipment arrived in 6 days from the
US.

Just plugged it in and it finds the best satellite. When the whole
Starlink system is fully rolled out, we can take our Internet anywhere
on the globe and get high speed Internet.

Sure beats the hell out of our current satellite Internet, well,
ex-satellite Internet now.

A local friend of mine here in downstate Illinois is eager to get this. Glad
it works well...

We have Starlink, works extremely well. When we set it up it found
the satellite in less than thirty seconds. It's been operating
flawlessly for almost a year. Dish TV likewise.

Still seems stable this morning, no issues. Our other satellite
service is still going, at least until mid next month but we will
cancel that, of course. No more data limitations but for me, the best
part is the portability of the system.

Good to hear. I haven't heard any complaints from anyone so far and
the network is already faster than what they said it would be during
the trial/rollout. Once the roll out is complete, then it will be full
speed at 300Mbps. TBH, we only need a third of that speed here.

This machine is still on our LAN with the old satellite Internet, max
speed is 25Mbps but even that is adequate most of the times. But
Starlink has no data limits and is portable, which is a game changer.

I checked with my friend, she is on the waiting list, it may be next year until she
gets it. She lives in a very rural farm area in western Illinois...

But her family has a weekend place up in rural Wisconsin, up
north, they've got it there and really like it:

'The coverage was available as far north as Wautoma WI, which was 7 miles north of
the coverage line available at that time. about 1 year ago. If you put in you zip code,
the Starlink website will tell you if you are or are not in the attainment area. We signed
up understanding it to be in the Beta phase and so had some very brief stop/starts,
but those are very rare now. When we signed up there were approx. 1200 satellites
in the system. The goal is 24,000..."

Yep. Some people here are already getting close to 300mbps, which is
more than enough speed for us. Wife is very happy now, with Youtube on
the TV playing her Thai music and exercise videos. Before we had data
limitations, not any more. We currently have 6 devices connected and
it's been great.

It doesn't matter how many you have connected. What matters is how
many you're using. And since you're only 2 people...
