Does anyone know of a supplier of parts for a Burpee pressure canner
Model AR25 ? I'm am particularly interested in a replacement gasket.
The Burpee Can Sealer Co stopped making home canners about 15 years
ago; but I was hoping there might still be a supply of parts for this very
good canner somewhere. My canner continues to give excellent service, it
would be a shame to have to junk it for lack of a simple gasket.

No clue (sorry) - but perhaps try "farm & fleet" or maybe "rural king"
-- those places might work? HTH.

I'd be willing to bet that either Mirro or Presto made the Burpee canner.

I am also looking for a part for a BURPEE ARISTOCRAT COOKER PAT NUMBER 1901699, only I only need the steam valve with the hinged release mechanism. I checked mirro and presto website for parts and couldn't find one I need. If anyone has one I could buy, let me know.

Did you even notice you're replying to a question asked in 1994? I
suggest you buy a new canner.

Did you notice that the two gmail users who chimed in on it have never
posted anything else here?

I've been using a kids bicycle inner tube for a gasket on my old burped canner for the last 30 years and it works just fine.

I have an old Magic Seal pressure cooker that needs a gasket, I think Presto made it, not sure what I'd cook in it tho.

It sounds to me like it's hard to put a new gasket on a pressure cooker/canner.

Really?
I remove and wash it, every time I use my pressure cooker.

And if you need to replace one, it's the easiest thing in the
world to do. Just buy the correct size gasket for your cooker.

Love the ingenuity! I, too, need a gasket for an old Burped pressure cooker. I will tell my husband about using a bicycle tire. Thank you!

It's not difficult at all. I did it back in the 70's, when I was a mere tad of a lad. That was just a flat, primitive, gasket. The modern pressure cookers use a looser, thicker, gasket that uses the pressure in the cooker to form a tight seal. The higher the pressure, the tighter the seal.

Hi there, I have the same Burpee canner cooker with the same model number did you ever find out where you can get a gasket for the cooker because I am also in need of one? Any assistance you can give me would be very helpful, thank you.
