LONDON (AP) — Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor wasn’t born to wear the
crown. But destiny intervened.

The woman who became Queen Elizabeth II will mark 70 years on the throne
Sunday, an unprecedented reign that has made her a symbol of stability
as the United Kingdom navigated an age of uncertainty.

In my house growing up, if you spent more than 5 minutes on the throne,
someone would be banging on the bathroom door yelling at you to get out.

Jebus isn't a typical Australian. He's a lower socio-economic scrub
dweller who collects grudges against society and develops kook
theories out of frustration.

I've got you both beat. We lived in a small city house in Pittsburgh
for several years with a single bath room. Mom, stepdad, myself, two
siblings, and two step-brothers also... all 7 of us; house had less than
1k sq ft.

The Hawaiian royals admired the Brits and traveled to England to pay homage to Queen Victoria on the celebration of her 50 years of reign. While in England, the future Hawaiian Queen wrote a mele dedicated to Victoria.

Only for a couple a years. After Capt. Cook made contact with the natives, the Monarchy, which was patterned after the British model was created. The overthrow of the Monarchy in 1893, marked the end of the Kingdom of Hawaii - it was only 114 years after Capt. Cook.

Sounds like a condensed version of what happened to the Aboriginals.
Although they aren't into monarchies.

Change did take place at a rapid pace on this rock. OTOH, the Hawaiian Kings and the Queen were quite progressive in their vision for Hawaii. They wanted to modernize and import new ideas and peoples to this isolated land. The difference between Hawaii and Australia is that all the immigrants to these shores have decided to embrace the Hawaiian culture and live together as one.

If non-Aboriginal Australians had embraced Aboriginal culture, we'd
all be living in little individual tribes, engaging in a lot of
inter-tribal warfare, roaming the land for food and speaking around
250 different languages.

"That's it" - thank you, a nicely edited version of my thoughts. I drove cab for 33 years and went a lot of places many drivers avoided. I was sort of forced into it - too many drivers hanging around the 'good spots' - but I believe I was also drawn to the danger of it. It was like going to a movie. I'd be in the middle of a lot of ugly shit going down but had the gas pedal and brake as well as my eyes to bail me out. I used to pick up lots of street dealers, guys just trying to make it through the day - very competitive out there selling dope - and I swear some of these guys used their brain more in one night than the average lawyer or doctor does in a year. Not that a person has to be intelligent to hold a lawyer or doctor position, although that's the image society presents. I am working on a series of new intelligence tests as we speak. Could be a few years before we’re ready to put them to use. The tests will be tough - real life situations where we release people into the wilds before hunting them down with bows and arrows and other crude stuff. Survival is the biggest intelligence test of all. Until you start to die for real. Then the biggest intelligence test is how you handle the transition. Will it be smooth or rocky? I can't speak for you, but I will pass that test for sure. I am ready for whatever comes next.

It's a difficult concept for most people to understand. It doesn't matter if most people get it or not. We get it.

Queen Liliuokalani was a crackerjack musician - she was skilled at reading music and could compose music in her head. One of her pieces was sung by the King - not just any king, but The King.
