I was at the grocery store this morning (Publix) when I noticed they have
started stocking Gaspar's Portugese Linguica and Chourico sausages. I
immediately thought of you! You turned me on to their web site to buy
coffee syrup :) http://www.gasparssausage.com/
I've never seen their sausages for sale in any grocery store before, and I'm
pretty sure I'd have noticed. The name jumped right out at me. It's pricy!
But I bought a package of the linguica to have with eggs and in omelets for
brunch-type meals :)

A mate gave me 50 bucks and said, "Go buy me some steak"..... admittedly, I
was hitting the SuperButcher before we headed home, so I got him a Black
Angus 'Heart Smart' rump, for $57, and threw in some Maltese sausages for a
bonus.

He rang me the next day and left a message to say that it was the first, and
not the last, Maltese sausage that he had ever tried. He loved it!! Now I
just have to try the lot that I bought for myself!!

If we are not meant to eat animals,
why are they made of meat?

Wow, their distribution area has certainly expanded. I get it
every few years via overnight delivery. Around $5/lb.
If you like the flavor, it's pretty good stuff. Pork shoulder or
butt, paprika, red pepper, garlic, vinegar and salt. Chourico
has a nicer texture,IMO, but is a little hotter.

Both are pretty good cut lengthwise, grilled till a lot of the
fat has rendered, and served on hard rolls with sauteed onions
and/or peppers.
