Nope, offering Rx drugs illegally is a crime... adn teh only reason
you want folks to email you is because your intent is to sell them,
otherwise you'd turn them back to the prescribing MD or the pharmacy
where obtained. And why do you have like a three year supply, you
must have pilfered the samples from a doctor's office... it's illegal
for a pharmacy to sell more than a three month supply. You can go to
prison for being in possession of that much Advair. Advair is a drug
with very serious side effects, people have died from taking Advair.
Be smart (not possible for the sqwartz), anyone with extra unused Rx
drugs should turn them into their medical doctor who originally
prescribed them, they will be [properly] dispensed to patients who
can't afford to buy. Or bring them back to the pharmacy where they
were purchased, often they will refund your money or give you credit.
Technically it's illegal to share prescription drugs, I know it would
be rare to be caught sharing with a family member but just let
something go awry, it's easy to detect drugs in a body adn easier yet
to find out who in the household was prescribed that med, and you will
be prosecuted.

I've seen a lot of dumb posts but this present one from the sqwartz is
far and away the dumbest... I seriously doubt it can be topped... the
little dwarf is the moron of all morons... and no humor intended, this
is deadly serious.

Every state has rules on dispensing Rx. Here in Shreveport, there are
two charities who accept donated medication, if it has not been opened
and it has not expired. I will pay his postage if he wants to mail them
to the pharmacy.

Advair from Sqwertz. When they get medical and pharmacist licences let me
know I'll "believe" it's legal. They cannot dispense prescription
medication without those licenses.

Charitable organizations certainly may have Rx programs for the needy
providing they're administered by a *licensed medical doctor*. Many
charitable organizations run eyeglass programs, but they must be
administered by someone licensed to prescribe glasses (Opthalomogist,
optometrist).

Last I looked the US FDA is a Federal Agency. The Federal Laws are
very specific on who may prescribe and dispense Rx drugs in the US
(and its Territories), and the penalties for breaking the law are
extremely stiff; huge fines into the tens of thousand$ and very long
prison terms. Individual states may tighten up on drug laws but they
cannot mitigate Federal Law... for example some states have banned the
purchase of pharmaceuticals from web sites reqardless they are
licensed pharmacies... some 14 states do not permit purchasing drugs
on line (just learned that from the FDA site).

In every state only a licensed medical doctor may prescribe
prescription drugs and only a licensed medical doctor or pharmacy may
dispense prescription drugs... and not just drugs, all sorts of
medical equipment, ie. O2 tanks/generators. nebulizers and associated
tubing, etc. requires a prescription... on line medical equipment
purveyers will not ship until they receive your prescription and
confirm it (FAX or email is fine).

See "note" regarding Rx, and restriction in red regarding non-shipment
to CA.

http://www.natlallergy.com/prod/1702/pari-proneb-ultra-II-compressor-nebulizer-system.html

A word to the wise, the internet, including usenet, is carefully
monitored by enforcement agencies for those offering any drugs/medical
equipment... if you're in the US do NOT do it!

Again, anyone who finds themselves with unused drugs (typically occurs
when a Rx is for a 90 day supply but it doesn't work for you) return
the unused portion to your prescribing doctor or the dispensing
pharmacy, in most cases the pharmacy will refund your money or give
you credit towards your next Rx purchase (can depend on individual
insurance policy). Do NOT give/sell Rx drugs/equipment to friends/
relatives/strangers... if anything untoward occurs those items can
easily be traced back to you and you WILL be prosecuted... even if
nothing happens but you get caught giving/selling/sharing Rx items you
WILL be prosecuted. Common sense dictates not to share Rx drugs, not
even with family members, especially not with family members unless
you don't value their lives... people do it but they're idiots.
Schools are required by law to confirm all students Rx items,
typically held by the school nurse... you'd be amazed at how many
imbecile parents share Rx meds with/amongst their children.

The prescription medications are dispensed through The Northwest
Louisiana Interfaith Pharmacy located at 1725 Elizabeth Street in
Shreveport, LA.

Here is a better link:
http://www.hud.gov/local/la/library/archives/2003-07-01.cfm

The only medication I have personally donated, was Cipro, because I was
allergic.

My church accepts donations and Interfaith picks them up every two
weeks. This includes other items such as food, clothing, household
goods, medical supplies like crutches and walkers. You will not believe
the prescription drugs that elderly people have stocked up, especially
diabetic supplies. One ladies husband kept getting them by mail, and
her husband had been dead for a year.

Anyway, instead of people going to local churches for help, everyone is
sent to Interfaith. The Interfaith here in Shreveport does not have all
the bells & whistles like the one in Texas, but we are working on it.

Says: "Staffed by volunteer pharmacists, doctors"

I figured they'd be following the law.

Mail order pharmacies often double ship and/or send another
prescription on a patient's list instead, especially when there are
different versions of the same medication (tablet, inhaler, and
nebulizer solution), and they don't want it sent back. With 90 day
supplies it doesn't take too many errors before someone has more than
a year's worth. Insurance companies are supposed to catch these
errors and they do but typically they just pay and let it go,
eventually it evens out because the patient stops ordering for a
while. And a lot of meds are written "use as needed" (ie. salves),
most patients try not to use any more than necessary so before long
they accumulate plenty extra. And let there be a shortage of a
medication just once when it's not available for a few months, as soon
as it''s produced again patients begin to build up a stash. There are
many reasons why a medication is stopped being produced for a while,
usually because there is slight change in formulation or delivery
system. And many generica are the same chemically but they don't
utilize the same delivery system as the name brand... often the
branded uses a time release delivery, the generic doesn't because
legally they don't need to comply... the branded could utilize a
buffer, the generic doesn't, the branded may use a coated tablet, the
generic not. With many meds these small differences do matter for
performance. Many doctors have a depression mentality so are always
trying to save patient's money, but often they're penny wise and
dollar fool. When your doctor prescribes a generic discuss this,
sometimes it's best to discuss the difference with the pharmacist...
and then insist on the name brand, especially when you can afford the
few dollars more. Don't let anyone BS you, generics and branded are
not the same... this is true even with OTC drugs.. store brands are
not the same as branded, not even with aspirin, even branded bandages
are superior.

It is unfortunate that many pharmacies and/or doctors will not take back any
medication that has already been filled.
My Dad recently died. While cleaning out his medicine cabinet, I contacted
the prescribing pharmacy to to be rid of all the meds he was taking. I was
told that they would not take anything back. With a shoebox full of meds, I
did not want to simply dump them into the trash and thereby return them to
the water supply via the local garbage dump. The local Hospice took the
refridgerated insulin, but for the rest, I had to take them to the local
hospital-who also didin't want them-and tell them I'd just leave them on a
counter if they didn't take them to be destroyed. That worked-they took the
meds.

That's unfortunate. The few times I returned meds the pharmacy
refunded my money. They won't take anything back that is unsealed,
expired or near its expiration date. They won't take back counted out
pills, measured out liquids, or anything unsealed.

Leaving the meds on the hospital counter they're still going to end up
in a land fill. All the meds people take ultimately end up in the
water supply... we all end up in the water supply.

That's unfortunate. When my old dog Molly died, I gave her unused
prescription meds, special foods, supplements, etc. back to her vet, who
maintains a stockpile of this and that that she passes along when a
patient's family is struggling to afford care for their pets.
