My sweeite and I tried out a new restaraunt in the
Inner Harbor (Baltimore) kast weekend. The food
was superb! Especially considering this is one of
a chain of places.

I ordered iced tea, thinking regular, ho hum iced tea.
I got Passionfruit Iced Tea! Yummy.

I ordered a salad, thinking I could keep some room
for dessert (well, it WAS the Cheesecake Factory :)).
I ordered the lunch portion-sized Santa Fe salad.

Lime-marinated roasted chicken, black beans, corn,
cilantro, thin slices of crisp tortillas, greens,
and the most amazing dressing. I can't remember what
was in it, but the flavor of the whole salad was a
perfect blend of southwestern USA and asian. Incredible.

BTW, the lunch salad was HUGE. (I had them wrap a third
of it to take home.)

Mark had this roasted chicken dish - with two different
Thai style sauces on the side. It came with peanut rice
and grilled plantains.

Their dessert menu - which has other things besides cheesecake -
listed the cheesecakes the way Baskin-Robbins lists their
31 flavors of ice cream. They had only one 'lite' version...
but I get if you REALLY want White chocolate double chunk
rasberry - you really don't want 'lite' to begin with. :)

If you have a chance to try this place - DO!

There's also one on the border of Rockville and North Bethesda, MD, at
White Flint Mall. This one's slightly less crowded than the Chevy
Chase one, but still a fairly long wait, and they'll give you beepers
so that you can walk around the mall and they'll page you when you're
table's ready.

I have to agree with you that considering this is a chain restaurant
they do have great food. My husband & I go to the one near us in Marina
del Rey for our birthdays & other special occasions. It's right on the
water at the marina - very romantic. We usually start off with an
appetizer on the patio while we wait for a table & by the time we have
dinner I'm so looking forward to their cheesecake that I take most of
my dinner home in a to-go box. I do have my priorities. :)
