I would probably describe my kitchen as a mature kitchen and well supplied.
We don't have every gadget known to man but we're getting close. A few years
ago I purchased a "plastic" garage storage bin about 6 feet by 4 feet to
keep all the seldom used supplies and/or gadgets.

Our list includes:
Rice cooker/steamer
Osterizer
George Foreman
2 Waffle Makers
Kitchen Aid
Toaster
Toaster Oven
2 Microwaves
Several coffee makers
An electric Hot Pot
A food processor
3 crock pots
Pots Pans baking supplies and a bunch more.

So I keep on the counter - Hot Pot, (coffee pot in the bedroom) food
processor, Knife rack, 1 microwave a canister set, and finally the toaster
oven and the toaster.

How about you?

An espresso machine
A food processor
A coffee grinder

are the electric appliances. Only a Braun multimix exists separately in a
drawer.
There are, however, also a big jar full of untensils, a plate rack, an oil
can, a jug holding flatware, 2 cutting boards, a coffee canister and 2 spice
cabinets (these very cute in wood.)

We shall not get into the many other traffic jams I am building in other
parts of the kitchen.

Coffe pot in the bedroom? Wow, you must really need your caffeine fix
as soon as you wake up! Or is it a preset one that you use as an alarm

The bedroom is upstairs and we have a small fridge and the timer coffee pot
sits on the top. We make the coffee the night before and usually wake to the
small of the coffee brewing @ 6 AM. There is a small (4 cup) coffee maker
in the guest bathroom, and a drip coffee pot in the kitchen not to mention
the French press. Carrying coffee up to the bedroom in the AM is not a
great idea for me. Can we say KLUTZ? LOL,

Kitchen Aid, toaster oven, coffee maker, two cylindrical things with
kitchen tools, knife rack and a glass trivet/cutting board mostly as a
counter protector.

There is also a basket near the wall phone at the none-working end of
the counter for all the paper crap that collects in that area.

I have a huge amount of counter space, so all of this stuff doesn't even
look like much.

I have a large walk in pantry that holds items too large for elsewhere
or used too infrequently to leave out. I like my counters on the bare
side of "stuff". If it is going to sit out on the counter it has to
earn its keep!
I also like my pantry and cupboards nicely organized and pleasing to
look at.

We have a very small kitchen and if I put everything on the counter
that I wanted to have there I wouldn't have any prep space! Alas I
also have very little storage so most of the 'kitchen' stuff lives in
(big) living room closet.

Rotating around the kitchen counter we see - tool caddy full of
cooking tools (no drawer to keep them in), microwave oven with the
cutting board sitting on top of it, dish drainer, toaster, plastic tub
for the dirty dishes, a few feet of empty counter, and then a cluster
consisting of fruit basket, knife block, 2 stainless steel canisters
of snacks, cookbook holder with an oven mitt standing on it, and a
small trivet. Nothing on the wall except a spice rack, simply because
I don't have any wallspace in the kitchen!

Hmm...depends on which counter one is talking about, in my kitchen. I
have the regular kitchen counters, and then the counter for the
butcher block work table..

The regular counter, sees has all my little kitchen tool crocks...next
to the stove. And as it goes around the corner, I have a food two
bigger food processors, a little food processor, and my KitchenAid.
Further down, beyond the sink, I have a coffee pot.

On the butcher block work table, at the back, I have my huge mortar
and pestle, my garbage bowl, a kitchen scale, and my knife blocks.

Maybe I will post pics later on tonight....

On my counter I have a tray about 18 inches round which holds things I
use all the time like salt, pepper, a bottle of oil, garlic, and two
containers with tools, like spatulas, spoons, whisks, etc. I've got a
small basket where I keep some fresh fruits and vegetables. Other than
that all I've got are a couple of mortar and pestles tucked in the
corner and a coffee maker.

Oh yeah, and a lava lamp.

I hate clutter, too, but the alternative here is eating out every
night and the grumpy guy who pays the bills wouldn't go for it.

In my dismally small kitchen, reading left to right:

fridge, microwave, wood and plastic cutting boards leaning against it,
basket with onions and garlic, lots of bread products, basket with
pepper grinders, various salt shakers, stove, four crocks with utensils,
knife block, paper towel holder, espresso maker, toaster oven, sink.

Stashed away: Cuisinart, blender, Kitchen Aid, waffle maker, crock pot
(borrowed from my daughter), canning equipment, electric roaster anda
few things I'm sure I can't recall. Tucked vertically into a new, never
used trash compacter are all my baking sheets, muffin tins, and cooling
racks.

If we ever have this kitchen remodeled (Please, God!) I want big drawer
space on the bottom. Whoever built this house ( a model home 35 yrs.
ago) never cooked a day in his life.

Clockwise:

Wok
Kitchen utensil rack (mounted on wall)

(Not to mention the various knives, wooden spoons, and other kitchen
implements that are kept on the counter in homemade 'contraptions')

[stove]

Blender
Juicer
Tea kettle
Toaster (bread)

[So-called open counter space - which always has various objects on it
which are 'in transit to the shed' (because it's near the back door)
Sigh.]

[kitchen sink]

Cutting boards x 5
Sandwich toaster

BTW, all my pots, pans, DOs, and Dad's pressure cooker are kept in the
cupboards under the counters until required (sometimes).

What's on the counter (one side of sink):

The giant ancient microwave.
Two boxes of dog biscuits. I don't remember the decision to keep them
there instead of the cupboard, but that's where they live.
Big decorative bowl for fruit that doesn't go in the refrigerator.
The fruit in platic bags instead of the nice bowl.
Tea pot that we never use. See dog biscuits.
Cappucino machine.
New to us KitchenAid mixer.
Big decorative bowl with mixer attachments.

(Other side of sink):

Toaster broiler.
Lovely pottery cannisters of white flour, white sugar, whole wheat
flour, oat flour.
Cutting boards.

(Other side of stove):

Plate with oils and vinegars. They could as easily go in the cupboard
above.

This is a good thread for me. It makes sense for the cappucino machine
and toaster broiler to be on the counter. We use them daily. But why
the oils and vinegars? Why aren't those put away? The mixer is large
and unwieldy to move each time, but what are the attachments doing out?
We could organize things better.

I like your idea of storage of the seldom used things, but I'd probably
forget I had them and buy new.

On my counters are:
Coffee maker
Toaster
Knife block
Kitchen Aid
Krupp's mini food processor
Coffee bean grinder
Canister set
Vase with the most used cooking utensils standing in it like plastic, wooden
and metal flowers
Espresso machine
Foodsaver
Blender
Crockpot
Wicker basket with cords for all of my rechargeable things
A few things that don't belong there

I have very little cabinet space, but when I look I see things I could get
rid of and then use that space to put things like the mini FP, espresso
machine, Crockpot, coffee bean grinder in. Luckily my microwave oven has
it's own cubby built under a cabinet, so it doesn't sit on a counter.
