Christy Deserves Better!

mentality to recognise that churlish details regarding Christy can be
read by thousands, and not just able to be read by *select* members of
this group.
In regard to this matter I would rather not call this group
insensitive & selfish. Instead I would preferably chose to consider
that members of this group are somewhat ignorant by not recognising
that some people do not want reminding of what they went through when
they lost a loved one in a similar way as Christy.
Clearly Allen was not thinking straight when he agreed to allow Peter
Lucas to publish full details.
But to my mind it takes someone in this group to step up to the plate
and suggest ways to shied this innocent victim from people who are
only interested in the macabre.

People do what they need to do to get through it. I've noticed that

spouse or child has spoken against this practice. It's only people

I'm glad he did. Peter could have published a daily link to
CaringBridge (just like the candle site is published daily) but we
often get his messages here before CaringBridge is updated. Anyone
*normal* who doesn't want to read about Christy knows they can either
skip the thread or filter the header which is easy to do - unlike
staying away from the likes of you who morph and return.

Your juvenal antics have done two things:
1. You've managed to turn someone many people here find abrasive
enough to permanently filter (without any help from you, asshole) into
a tragic hero.
2. You've also managed to show *you're* so focused on stalking that
you can't even let someone go through the real life death of his wife
(who is well loved here) without turning it into a stalker's
playground.

In general people deal with impending doom, sadness, and overall impotence
in different ways. In addition people seek emotional support and catharsis
in differently.

Whether you liked Christie or not, she contributed to this newsgroup, she
made an impact. I just read a quote from Edna St. Vincent Millay that went
like this:
"My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But, ah, my foes,
and, oh, my friends- It gives a lovely light!" I think that pretty much sums
up Christie....her candle may have burned at both ends, but what a light she
made in the life of others. If Peter is touched by that light, more power
to him.....you can only hope to make such an impression........

Christie's quirky personality would find the absurd humor in the fact that
her last remaining day on earth may be National Fruitcake Day (smile).
Think of her in her finer moments, what made you smile and some of the

My SO (Ruth) and I were both touched by Christy's 'light'. She sent
consoling emails after Ruth's much loved older sister (and my SIL)
passed away after an 8 year battle with cancer, and then on the 1st
anniversary of her passing.

Newsgroups get after Christmas blues.
"Christmas is coming! And long time subscribers you know what that means. No
I am not talking about Santa, eggnog, and parties, but the "aftermath"---
when the new users start to log on, and the resultant problems start in the
various WebTV newsgroups.
It seems that right after the holidays, there is a 1-2 month "window" where
us long-time users come up against folks that have no idea or clue of what
"netiquette" is. They troll for the fun of it. Then it stops around the
beginning of February and then we are safe for another year.
Granted, for most folks getting WebTV, this will be their first experience
being on line and we more experienced users should be there to help them. I
don't object to that. What I object to is people who don't have a clue and
aren't in the mood for getting one. This is where a strong TOS should come
in, but as we all know, the WebTV Terms of Service isn't worth the paper it
is written on.
I would hate to see a serious issue arise where a subscriber who had a
serious problem (such as, say, with someone harassing them on line) could
not get help, due to the TOS being weak. Hopefully the majority of us on
line won't experience situations such as that. But in talking to my friends
that are on line, I was surprised to find out a good majority of them had
seriousissues come up at least once in the time they have been on line.
Those that got their concerns taken care of quickly and promptly were all
users of another ISP service besides WebTV.
I am gearing up for another season of banality where trolls and general
mayhem are the norm. I don't see my friends that are on AOL, MindSpring, or
one of the other services having this problem. Why can't we as WebTV users
get the same kind of service and help when we have TOS issues that need to
be taken care of?
One of the things I am working toward as Ms. Atlanta Achievement 2000 during
my year of service is awareness in the Internet community of good on-line
habits. We as users of the Internet need to have our interests protected
when TOS issues are brought up.
How long must we wait, WebTV management? It's your call! .

Hey Loafhead, the Olympic Games bring in a huge sum of money. If they

7. Find out how much the IOC has lost in the Bernie Madoff scandal. I
am hearing it is close to five million---my gut feeling is that it is
much higher.
Yes, anytime some crook makes off with some money it has a direct
effect on you. Maybe you might also want to see if the Olympic Games
lost anything to Enron and Whitewater.

9. Dick Pound for IOC President. Yes, I know what happened the last
time he ran, but he's a good guy that the IOC needs to keep around.
Are you sure you don't mean Dick Cuff for I.O.C. President since he is
the one who always sticks up for you when the videos appear on You
Tube?
10. Get Chicago 2016 to answer some questions. Some really tough
questions that they don't like to answer. If you are not hiding
anything, why the secrecy?
I am sure that Ms. Kehog, can cure all of the problems that plague
Chicago if she can just get her fat ass on a plane and go there. Why
don't you answer some tough questions like how you won that stupid
paegent you always whine about people posting pictures of you from. I
am sure that when it comes to crime you are an expert since you are
probably a decendant of Andrew Kehoe, one of the worst mass-murderes
of all time.
