Black Beans

What exactly do people mean by black beans.
I have 3 alternatives from the local World Food shop which is asian slanted
They have beans called Urid Dhal which I thin are black Mung.
Are Moong and Mung 2 different spellings of same word?
There were also Black Turtle beans which said US in origin
and (I think this is not what people were meaning at all Black Kidney beans)

Basically I want to know what are the beans in the chinese dish
Black beans and green pepper sauce.

Hi I pulled a pile of recipes of here about a week ago that required BLACK BEANS
I now find that I dont know what BLACK BEANS are!!!!!
Bit embarassing really.......

My local world food shop has

1) Urid Dhal (moong beans - is this another spelling of mung?)
are these what are used in Black Bean and Green Pepper sauce?
2) Black Turtle Beans (said the country of origin was the US were expensive
though)
3) Black Kidney Beans (I am almost positive that these were not what was meant)

Any ideas out there?

In general, I consider references to black beans to mean black turtle beans.
