OK. There is a NG alt.food.binaries, which Verizon no
longer carries. What are the pros and cons of posting
binary files? Must all binary posts go to a.b.c? I noice some
of you use tinyurl or something like that. Is that the way
to go?
On this topic, I'm a newbie, admitted.
But there has to be some easy way to see images
that relate to the group. I think they could add a
lot.
Thoughts?
Alex
tinypic
Binaries such as pictures can only be posted to binary newsgroups,
attempts to post binaries to other newsgroups are rejected by most news
servers. Links / URLs to pictures posted on other sites / servers such
as the noted tinypic can be posted in any newsgroup. The advantage to
binary groups is the pictures are inline and you don't have to open
other browser / reader windows to view them. The newsgroup is
alt.binaries.food BTW.

Yes, either tinypic.com or put your pictures on some photo
website so you can post the url. Not everyone has a
newsserver that will allow them to download binaries, or
live in places where downloading binaries would be a hassle.

Nope, no registration involved. Just go to.....
Browse to find your pic file, Upload and copy the URL that it assigns
for that pic.
Or, as Nancy said, there are websites like Photobucket, Flickr, etc,
etc, were you register and are able to upload pics so that they stay on
the website.
Such as.........
http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/PeterL_2007/
IIRC, they give you about 5Gb of 'space' to use, so be aware of the size
of the pics that you put in there.

It's only one pretentious little twat, who doesn't even post any pics

I have no issues with you.

Some idiots here don't seem to realise that if you speak nasty to
someone, expect to get nasty back. And when they talk nasty to me, and
they cop it back, they get all weepy and 'woe is me' and label *me* an

If you have a lot of photo's, use one of the online 'storage' websites
like Photobucket.
You can arrange your snaps into different folders.
They also have a bulk uploader.

And Peter, you are risking getting into a lot of killfiles that people
are not wanting to put you in. Just cause.
That is now ending. You are driving this vendetta...and it aint
pretty.
I for one, am reaching my tolerance for this. For the sake of rfc,

As soon as you, and quite a few others, spend about 2 seconds of your
life looking at a header, you might just see how silly you look at the
moment, blaming me for the forgers posts.
*How many* times do I have to point it out to you people???

This is pretty silly, Christine. You and Ophelia are preaching to the

You really should check to see who you are replying to before you post
this much.
Another handy hint, is that not only is the stalker posting using a
different address, they have been using the following .sig:
If we are not meant to eat dick, why are they made of meat?

You don't have to point anything out asswipe. People are just tired of the
bullshit which you bring with you. What you would like to do is have
everyone do a full header check before responding to a post? FOAD moron.
The only way to stop this shit is for you to go away.

What is pretty silly, and insulting, is you telling posters, as Lucas does,
who to put in their kill files or who they should respond to. A futile
effort at best. Who do you think you are? The President of Usenet? Maybe
you and Lucas should get a room.

DUH!!!
He is a sad little person. His greatest fear right now is having the
really bad stuff he's pulled exposed in this newsgroup. The best is yet to
come for Lucas.
I'm not uploading pics on any of those webspace links again. I had a
boatload of pics on Yahoo and when it went to Flickr they took hostage of
quite a few albums and the only way I get them back is to subscribe to a pay
service.
