This is the Bay Area Country Dance Society schedule for the
week of Monday, April 29, 2013.

BACDS sponsors English and American traditional dances in the
San Francisco Bay Area.

This is fun, relatively easy, community-oriented dancing with
live music. All dances are taught, no partner is necessary,
and first-timers are welcome at all our dances unless they're marked
"experienced".

Admission prices:

Supporter: $15
Regular: $10 on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, $9 on weeknights
Member Discount: $2 from regular prices
Student/Low-income: $5
or pay what you can.

Please wear clean shoes with non-marking soles.

Don't know what we're talking about? Check out www.bacds.org/newcomers

NOTE:

Wednesday is May 1. Various BACDS and non-BACDS morris dance teams will be
dancing the sun up around the Bay Area, at the Santa Cruz Lighthouse,
Palo Alto Baylands, Twin Peaks in San Francisco, Inspiration Point in Berkeley,
and The Community Center Youth Annex in Sebastopol. Check out
www.bacds.org/mayday for more information.

Wednesday also brings us a rare visit from North Carolina's Fred Park to call
the Berkeley Contra. His dry wit and extensive traditional repertoire make him
stand out among callers. And it's an open band night, too!

NOTE:

Palo Alto contra's music is provided this Saturday by the Palo Alto Community
Band, organized by Derya Akin. Set lists, rehearsals, and coaching got us a
very tight sound the last time we did this and we expect the same. For more
info get in touch with Derya via pacommunityco...@gmail.com

Saturday's English dance in San Francisco unites two musicians from far-flung
reaches (Bill Jensen from Portola Valley on the Peninsula and Jon Berger from
Sebastopol in the North Bay) with East Bay-based world-traveler Sharon Green
for what should be a very tasty program.
