Getting Educated--Western Riding List Serves?

OK, so I just joined a QH list serve, figuring that would be a good place to expand my knowledge. Just finished my "and these are my QH's posts." Gosh, I've had quite a few, haven't I? Madam, Doc, Delilah, Moonlight; one with full papers, one appendix, two non-papered but very obviously QH. Then I have the two QH x's, Belles and Moonlight.... more »

Mare's Nest Update--Lite's eye, Baby's knee, and various stuff

OK, so, Moonlight's eye looks tons and tons better. Swelling is WAY down, still puffy but maybe 1/10 what it was at first. She can see, too! We are keeping the mask on and doing some meds into the eye 3x a day for a few more days, as per the vet's orders this morning (we took a peek at her while doing Baby's knee).... more »

"Joyce Reynolds-Ward" ...Joyce, your post caught my eye. I don't really follow threads much anymore. There have been times when I've thought it best to unsubscribe. I stop in only occasionally to check on a handful of 'friends' I've made over the past 16 years here. Some folks like that other damn Ruth and of course Mary, Nancy, Joyce, Abby, Eileen, Tom(gone), Terry(long gone), Charlotte ... even John - tho he hates top posters. Some folks, I've met in person and I actually <gasp> like them as real, in-the-flesh, type people! Heck, I'd buy them a beer and I can't say that for all that many people these days.... more »

[link] Really, this was the set for the movie. Axl was a tool. It was a boring ride and he acted like he needed to canter around an arena a few times. Next time I am going to ride him and canter and jump him before I go! He does better when it is more technical I think.... more »

Today I showed up at the barn for my lesson and saw a note that the indoor was closed and most likely will remain closed until the rest of the footing comes in *sigh*. Busy day

I have been side-tracked by a variety of non-horse and horse related duties lately, but today I got to do a bunch of work with some of my horses. Legend got a visit and some grooming/petting. First, the ponderings. As I rode Pan today (inside, his feet are much better but still not up to even incidental rocks), I paid partcular attention to what (and how) I asked him to do.
