Horse sold. From California to Florida.
Jorene - Ann McIntee told me Sat. she decided to buy the Nu Cash daughter as
a brood mare. I passed the deal along to her because I really don't want to
get into the breeding biz at this time, but the horse has potential as a
nice brood mare. Lisa was out at Jack's this past Sunday and babbled on and
on about the deal. Seems Ann and Lisa (who spoke to Christi) are pretty
excited. I know Ann takes damn good care of her horses and there is no
worry Peaches will be shown or worked hard.
Ann is good folk and she will breed Peaches with a dual Peppy San on the
top. For my involvement, I got an option to purchase on her first baby.

FWIW, another rec.equer from MD bought two young'uns here in Texas. She'll
be here this weekend to pick them up. One is a grandaughter of Doc OLena.
Both are out of foundation lines, nothing but cowhorses. :-) Now the only
problem is finding suitable trainers in her area. Mebbe some WCH folks can
help direct her in that area.

Joanie Burger-Shank does her own training and does some nice work on her
hackamore horses. She knows everyone interested in WCH up that way. Joanie
is from MD .. how convenient! Joanie also travels down here to show in
events in GA and FL.
Send me an email and remind me to send you Joanie's number, address, etc.
and I will connect the new folks to the WCH bunch up that way. They also
have started an affiliate of the NRCHA up that direction - do some clinics
and some minor shows I think.
I prefer mares, personally. And I got me one of dem Doc O'Lena as a
maternal grandsire - really cowy and a nice horse <grin>. But that Dry Doc
mare I have ... something about her is so damn special I can't really put my
finger on it. She's amazing and I will keep you folks posted as to her
progress next year - I am campaigning her for the Silver Open Bridle in the
NRCHA, Open Bridle FRCHA, Sr. WCH at the App Nat'l and App World.

I myself have two WONDERFUL mares here as a result of R.Eq....and more

than I could begin to list, met nice folks in person and have a few I'd love to
meet in the future. Rec Eq has it moments, but it's worth the occational burp
to hang around and absorb the atmosphere.

Exactly. Flames occasionally, garbage now and then? Sure, all ng's
have them. For the most part there is really good "stuff" and good
people here. You usually find what you're looking for, one way or the
other.

I've already deposited Ann's check and started the process for the Coggins
for shipping Peaches across the country. Thanks for making the connection!
If I was to name a favorite of all the horses we've had over the years,
likely Peaches would top the list just for having such a wonderful
disposition. Hard to believe we acquired her as a barrel horse who had been
ridden by kids and needed rehab training, but Peaches ended up being a
reliable Youth lesson horse once Shari had her brain back and completely
re-trained her. BTW - there are several people on rec.eq (mostly lurkers)
who know Peaches - some have ridden her as a lesson horse at Shari's - who
would tell you that your friend will have a sweetheart of a horse in her
broodmare band.
We've often shipped out of state / across the country selling horses,
usually through the Internet, sometimes through a rec.eq connection. I don't
often mention on rec.eq the list of horses we have FS - people can find them
advertised on major online classifieds and on our web page if they're
shopping - but a couple of years ago we shipped a QH to MD to a rec.eq
poster who seems to be real happy with her mare. Made her enthusiastic
enough about foundation QH that they just bought 2 more with Susan Dangar's
help in TX. <g> So I reckon rec.eq has value not just in information
sharing, but also in the connections you can make. But when you get right
down to it, I don't just have connections, I reckon I have a whole bunch of
friends through rec.eq ... and I've had the pleasure of meeting a couple
dozen of them in person over the years, with a bunch more on the list of
people I'd like to meet. ;)

Should produce a versatile, athletic cross! Peaches' first foal (now a BS
Paint yearling) is a delight to handle, real light and willing. Hope Peaches
puts another dandy foal on the ground that you can't resist and you can send
me pix as s/he grows! ;)
