Then I Sunday I audited a driving clinic. One beautiful pony was
carrying his head behind the vertical. Once around the ring, and the
clinician stopped the driver, and shortened the side straps of the
bridle by one hole. Within minutes the head carriage changed
completely as the pony relaxed and the nose came forward to the
vertical. The clinician referred to a second horse as a potentially
great western pleasure pony -) and the lesson was spent getting the
head up instead of trailing in the dirt!. A third driver was a young
girl heading for the show circuit, so that session was spent polishing
her position and harness turn-out. (No way would I ever be interested
in showing. All sorts of fiddling around to say nothing of hours
cleaning horse, tack, and carriage. I am a knock of the big clumps of
dirt and get going sort of person.)
All in all a most satisfying horsey weekend.

Sally,
Where was your ride held?
Maureen
The ride was held near Finch, Ontario, just past Berwick. Sponsored by
OCTRA but held through the Stormont Arabian Horse group. It looked
like public trails through a model forest. Not sure if the Larose
forest extends that far or not.
