Subject: What to do about fear of traffic??
Since about two months I have a very nice Fjord  mare, of almost 3
years old. Too young to ride, so I train her only by walking and
longeing.
For the training I have to walk about two kilometers with her, to a
training paddock. There is no alternative than walking on the road,
where traffic passes by.
At first these walks did not appear any problem, nor  the traffic. But

the last two weeks  the horse become more and more nervous.
Now, she tries to get away when a car comes from behind (even
slowly), and she reaslly panics. When she sees a car coming towards
her, she stops, and does not want to continue until the car has gone
long by.

This is becoming more dangerous every day. I dont’ like it. Is it me,
the horse or maybe something else. For the rest she is a very gentle
horse, so I did not expect this problem at all...

Anybody who can help, comment or give any tips/suggestions, please
e-mail me.
